Have always had good luck with Airtran. I don't really like Southwest, boarding reminds me of a cattle drive.

A cattle drive? You are assigned your position in line when you check in. First to check in, first in line. It is great. No more worrying about being the first one there. I can be the last one there and the first one on. SWA is great for boarding.

A/T on the other hand, I had to use them going to NYC, felt ghetto to me. Not Ryan Air ghetto, but trashy.

Virgin America is also very good. If they flew everywhere SWA did I would use them instead. But they don't, so they get honorable mention.

AA is usually cheapest for where I go.

flybe, our local company from Bournemouth International :)

When travelling abroad, expedia are meant to be decent for low cost around Europe.

err, for inner germany ... RYE-N-AIR lolz

Most of my flights are between the Bay Area and either LA, Las Vegas or Seattle, so Southwest is my go to budget airlines. Alaska Airlines is also good.

For cross country I generally use Jet Blue or Virgin, depending upon where I am going.

Also, like with hotels, you can get good cheap upgrades if you ask, and don't mind paying out a little extra for increased comfort or accoutrements. It helps if you are a Member of their frequent flyers club.

Ryanair run from Bournemouth too! Cheap & regular flights :thumbsup

Ryan-Air sucks ass. They are the cheapest of the cheap.

I flew Austrian this year. Not really cheap, though. And on the flight back, I had an all-male flight crew. Hello???? I want to see some fancy women on the flight, dammit!

I had my first experience with them last month. That is quite the airline. Definitely all about the upsell. Selling raffle tickets even. Hell, they sold ad space on the overhead bins.

Ryanair for travelling round Europe, but you really have to accept it for what they are... the biggest upsellers in the world! Everything is an extra. No to mention they say they fly to Barcelona, but its actually an airport 60 mins outside of the city, and every other major city they "fly into"

Still tho if you don't mind the little hassles, then its a good way to see Europe.

Ryanair runs so often & are cheap though...

You could walk in Bournemouth airport & have a flight in an hour or so to pretty much any destination around the UK or Europe :thumbsup

Sorry to hear there was no female crew... did you ask who was flying the plane? :thumbsup

True dat

I still go with Jetblue, even after all the complaints and the mess that happened a while ago with people waiting in the plane for hours and hours. I find it cheap and prefer the updated fleet, I don't care what anyone says if I have to fly I would rather fly in a newer airplane. Its a well run company and who will ever forget that crazy landing with the messed up landing front landing gear.
