:1orglaugh

i'm guessing a tire was out of balance, that's usually the culprit.

martinsc 10-28-2010 11:35 AM

damn.......

Furious_Male 10-28-2010 11:48 AM

Ok so why does the vehicle shimmy at high speeds now??

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh It does, doesn't it? Hell, would make anyone wonder "wtf can be wrong? Everything is so perfect. It even appears that this vehicle has a protector cage for the drive shaft so it will last almost forever. We may need to call in the specialists for this one boys"

Quite easy actually, use a torch to cut it partially, then just pull it off :2 cents:

i disagree.

it's wound tight on either side of the back u-joint, you can't torch that without doing damage. even when you get access to it, you won't be able to just pull it off the drive shaft.

i'd say it will need to have the rear u-joint broken and prolly the front as well, yank the drive shaft and replace. if it went past the front u-joint that can be a nightmare. + getting that wire off the part of the differential and after the u-joint will take some work. there are seals and such all over that area, you can't just go in there with a torch blazing, those seals are heat sensitive.

Ethersync 10-28-2010 12:37 PM

Haha, wtf? I would have loved to see video of that...

I would still say, the bulk of it can be cut away, if you know what you are doing with a torch:2 cents:

Tom_PM 10-28-2010 01:34 PM

Damn, now thats how to sell a mattress. Shimmy's at high speed.

But good for a car? Not quite so much.

I also laughed at the black out on the mechanics eyes, to protect the innocent lol.

Cyber Fucker 10-28-2010 01:49 PM

holy moly

DaddyHalbucks 10-28-2010 04:42 PM

It's a bloody miracle that the car functioned at all.

justinsain 10-28-2010 05:06 PM

Couldn't you just drive down the highway in reverse and let it unwind :upsidedow

2MuchMark 10-28-2010 05:10 PM

Just further proof that women shouldn't be allowed to drive.

tiger 10-28-2010 05:11 PM

minicivan 10-28-2010 08:23 PM
