I think they are far more threatening then Saddam at this time. South Korea and Japan are easy targets for their missles and we disarmed Japan and took on the obligation of protecting both South Korea and Japan.

I don't know about you... but a hungry chihuahua with an inferiority complex & a 20 megaton nuke strapped to it would scare the shit out of me.

Its kinda a tricky situation. We could go over to attack north korea and decimate a lot of their millitary and make sure they dont develop a nuke. It wouldn't be that hard. But as others have said they would attack south korea and japan.

Even though their might be devastating loss of life, attacking north korea now, might be a lot better than doing nothing and letting them get a full nuclear arsenal.

They want to go out with a bang.. to burn out, than to fade away.

What is happening now is the same thing that we did to Japan. They lashed out at Pearl Harbor. Granted they lost, but they were gonna lose even more if they did not fight. The difference this time is the psycho we are pushing around now has nukes. This one could very well bite us in the ass. He has nothing to lose, his country is in shambles. Like Brujah says, might as well go out and take a couple hundred thousand Americans in South Korea with him. Im sure Japan would get one dropped on them as well. And in a country the size of California, the damage would just be obscene.

But hey, nevermind that, Saddam is the threat. I cant sleep at night knowing that guy is 7 miles under the earth in his bunker with his army of pee shooters and out dated rocket technology.

Even if they have or are going to develope a nuclear weapon, they would have to be stupid to use it. By them making threats like that is just going to make the international community that much more focused on stopping their program. If for some retarded reason they used their limited guidance system to launce a nuclear warhead at Japan or even Hawii, it would not cause WWIII. But it would cause the end of N.Korea.

Right!!! Does taco bell have the 4th largest army in the world? Don't underestimate the North Koreans, they've been brainwashed since childhood to hate the US and should save the South from evil...I think though the US should have a bit more dialogue and see what the UN wishes to do.

I think that while we are busy fighting a war with IRAQ, the North Koreans may believe that we will be taxed to the max with the majority of our forces in the mideast that who knows, maybe they think they;ll "save" the South. Another June invasion? Just like 50 years ago? Certainly hope not!!

they may have a lot of foot soldiers but in this day and age that dosent mean all that much. Their only defense is the one or two short range nukes that they have. They can play that card if they want, but that wont stop us from rolling in our arsenal and bombing the living shit out of them with planes and cruise missles.

North Korea has no oil, or internal reserves to fight any war except million hungry soldiers with AK 47's. They dont even have enough fuel for their tanks and planes. In serious war with US, it would be crushed the moment it launched missiles. They extorts, threaten, blackmail, but can not sustain a war.

Believe me or not but oil is used for a lot more things than just fuel. 500 000 tons is nothing, no economy can survive without the oil.

North Korea has no friends, since Soviet Bloc is gone, they know that they can not survive on their own, they tried but didnt work out. I think they want trade, aid etc... All this show is just to save their face.
