would you do biz with a user who has a negative rep on gfy ? would you ask him questions about it , then when satisfied do biz ? or would you never even consider doing biz, if the user has a negative rep on gfy ?

You could get neg rep far all kind of unreasonable reasons, even a bad joke and I'm not sure bad sense of humor has anything to do with biz so I wouldn't pay too much attention to it

In all seriousness, as a buyer I do not care. It is easy enough to look up someone's posting history and determine if the neg rep was for stupid shit.

I did have negative rep for a little while for stupid shit at the same time I was looking for and buying links and was worried about how sellers would perceive me.

I guess it just depends on the parties involved.

I don't base anything on rep. Rep can to easily be given, positive or negative, so it's pointless.

The only time it might come into play is if it came down to two people of identical ability, at the same cost. If I had nothing else to base my decision on, I might go to the positive rep guy vs the neg rep guy. Maybe.

The rep thing is skewed its not even funny. Just scrolling through a handfull of threads I have seen so called "webmasters" who I know are broke ass... don't know how to make money... have crap loads of positive rep because they fool everyone here on this board into thinking they are internet gurus. Don't pay any attention to the rep points.

The big problem is that rep is handed out by people with high post counts -- that's the only qualification. So your guy with bad rep offended somebody who has made 30,000 posts. WTF does that tell you?

To answer the OP's question seriously, given people with personal vendettas are handing out neg rep for petty reasons, it's pretty safe to say it probably has no bearing on the business standing of that individual. Or if you look at the other side of the coin, greens giving each other rep has boosted them a lot, and some of them I honestly wouldn't trust for a second regardless of how much rep they have. Like the "I'll get your Epass money back even though no one else has and I can't tell you anyone I've helped" guy.

There's a couple of people with a lot of neg rep that I have and will continue to do
biz with. Their neg rep is all due to "haterade".

I really dont think it matters much, besides the people that are really worth doing business with, the whales so to speak have no rep at all as they post MAYBE 100 posts pr year...

That being said the people i see with tons of Neg rep, well 50% of them i would have steared clear of anyhow so i guess its not completely off.
