So, about Reality Check Network

Real sorry for their loss, but my sites are still down.

Is it wrong to assume they will not bill me for the next cycle since it seems their business is in the shitter? Or just the opposite?

I guess I need to keep calling them and try to see about how to get the backup of my sites? What a drag.

Does anyone know about the billing? Do we just need to call them I guess and they'll take care of you and cancel?

I liked their hosting but more than being down I dislike the whole thing and it smells too dirty for me. But I guess that's how it goes in this industry, right? :Oh crap

Do people really think this was because they host dirty pirate sites? If that is the case, whoever is responsible is really an asshole because they did more damage to honest people than otherwise. :disgust

ps. It took me about 4 days to discover this issue, and I read it on gfy. I don't know if they forgot about me but I surely didn't get ANY notice about this. But I guess they're really having problems so that's that. I am small fish.

I'm in the same situation as you - Completely in the dark about this. No response to emails, no notice at all. Would be nice to get some updates, but the last one was on their website two days ago, which didn't say anything other than "We're staying." The thing is, my sites are on a shared account there, so I'm sure I'm at the end of the line. What sucks is my backups are about 4 months old, and I keep waiting, each day, hoping they'll get my sites back online. I guess I just need to move the sites, use my older backups, and rebuild from google cache. I didn't want to do that, but who knows how long this is going to be. I thought it would be resolved by now.

someone posted an email saying it could take up to a month to restore everything.

I'm sorry for your loss cherrylula. I hope they get you up and running soon.

You have everything backed up just incase they don't?

webair 10-22-2010 08:59 AM

Have you tried emailing the contacts they set up on their site? Or better yet have you called in to see what the sitch was with regard to your account? You may want to contact isprime as well as they are working with them to get client sites back up.

other hosts should take note how to handle the situaton much better than it is/was by realitycheck. this is fucked up. basically killed thousands of sites who did nothing more than host with these guys.

ISPRIME says they do not have backups. If not moving to them, you should contact RCN.

Actually, I believe the lesson here is to never rely on one set of backups.

I'm in the same boat cherry. The sites I still had there weren't mission critical, but I'd still like to know something so I can move and try to rebuild or whatever.

yeah I probably have copies of everything, but scattered across multiple computers, some not even hooked up right now so it's a real PITA.

Well I called and got a "full voicemail" message. And thank you, now I see there are contacts listed on their website which wasn't the case last time I looked.

And yep once I get the backups from them the sites will be moving right over to you guys, webair. :)

Hope everyone doesn't lose too much! Luckily the sites I had over there aren't really big money sites, but I hear coins dropping as I type this... :1orglaugh
