PR, adult sites, google

does google have dropped the PR of the adult websites? I saw dozens sites get their PRs dropped to 0, anyone else?

There's an update expected soon (whatever that means, really), but no changes here.

I can confirm some changes, I've sent out 200-300 Page Rank alerts notifying of PR updates in the last 2-3 days as the spider has combed through the 33k+ pages of linkspun users pages.

It's been updating (finding new PR values) at that rate for a couple weeks now, and mostly (from what i can see) lots of 'page' updates not so much root/domains. Enough to think it's going to be more gradual like this from now on and single sites getting updates where others don't and new pages on sites getting PR without any update being 'active'.

Got one dropped to 0 but haven't done any link building for it for ages.

It seems like most of the reports seem to be that their PageRank went down to a 0. So this PageRank update does somewhat seem penalty related. Others saw a smaller downgrade of their Toolbar PageRank.

It is important to note that Toolbar PageRank has no direct correlation with ranking. Google uses their own internal PageRank numbers and what they show in the Toolbar is often believed to not just be outdated but also not accurate.

I have not seen people report Toolbar PageRank increases, but I could have missed it.
@seroundtable

algorithms update??

Google gives less relevance to adult sites in many points of their SEO.

For example, I have never ever seen an adult site getting cached in seconds by Google.

However, in Mainstream, any new blog with 2 weeks online time, when you make a new article, it gets cached in less than 3 seconds.

.

My site gets updated almost instantly in Google's cache. I update my site through out the day about 6 times a day for the last five years.
