Where to get a list of Cities and Countries
 

Hey creating a database and need a complete list of cities and countries. Does anybody know where I can get such a thing please?

auto navigation software usually has a good list.

why make a list? use an api. more accurate and updated..

I have a database of every town , place and pothole in every country...

but it took me a *long* time to put together and so it's not free ;)

There are major cities databases out there though but I don't have any bookmarks - just remember seeing them
