Rooney OUT at ManU

Wow, he has been shit lately, but still, the guy is only 24 with a ton of talent...this does not look good for ManU fans...

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson confirmed on Tuesday that star striker Wayne Rooney wants to leave the club, expressing "shock and disappointment" at the player's stance.

and it only gets worse with speculation as to where he would move...

Manchester United's cross-town rivals Manchester City have emerged as the favourite to land Rooney, with the player's wife reportedly reluctant to entertain a move overseas. The Guardian said any move by Rooney to Eastlands would represent the "most rancorous and staggering transfer of modern times."

Hopefully he'll come over the the LA Galaxy. Ha! Yeah right.

Si 10-19-2010 08:42 AM

I just read this.

Not being funny but I think he has run his course at united. Ferguson seems to be going through one of his infamous re-shuffles like the one that happened about 5 years ago.

Bringing in youngsters, pissing a few people off and going through the process of building a newer stronger team.

I think rooney has turned into ronaldo, being fucking childish and arrogant. Good luck to him where ever he ends up.

Ferguson has been quite the master at retooling on the fly but this could be real trouble for him. The team is either too old or too inexperienced and at least with Rooney you had someone to build around...now, whom do you pick to do that?

NickB. 10-19-2010 09:01 AM

those kids take 10-20% of the transfer amount ;) a few mil pounds never hurts any kid hahaha

RaiderCash_Dominik 10-19-2010 09:18 AM

He will get killed if he goes to City.

Berbatov and Hernandez have been playing really good football together.

They need to work on defence at the moment, getting rid of rooney and building from the back would be a very good move. I can see it coming in january or next summer.

Out: Rooney In: New goalkeeper and 1 or 2 defenders

He doesn't need to worry about who to build the team round if rooney is gone.

Berbatov has started on fire this season and I will be curious to see if he can keep the pace. Hernandez has a lot of promise, but with just a handful of games played its too early to tell how he will stand up for the full season.

I agree with you on the defence and goaltending. van der Sar turns 40 this month. And even though there are only 7 players over 30, there are 7 more that turn 30 next year, including Berbatov, Park, Evra, O'Shea, Vidic, Carrick...couple that with the financial problems and this could be a team in decline.

Sam - Mr. Skin 10-19-2010 09:48 AM

He might end up in Madrid.

ManU haven't looked very good this season--Chelsea and Man City look much better. Ferguson is a shrewd manager, and getting rid of players when he thinks they no longer serve his purpose is something he's done in the past--he had no problem in selling David Beckham to Real Madrid, for instance.

Hogibear 10-19-2010 09:59 AM

Unless Berbatov and Javier Hernandez click they are fucked....last season it was a one man show with Rooney...1st Ronaldo then Tevez and now this ....Utd are no longer the team who nobody left by choice....hate to say it but looks like Chelsea will be walking the league for the next while....

This is true!

The financial stuff is more worrying than losing rooney. We need new owners ASAP! :helpme

andrej_NDC 10-19-2010 10:08 AM

Ferguson will have a bad ending, if he doesn't get his ego under control. Manchester will be so fucked without Rooney this season.

Yo Adrian 10-19-2010 10:16 AM

Rooney to City, that would be fucking awesome.. if only for the entertainment aspect of the game. I'd renew my foxsoccer subscription to watch that!

Site Note: I've never seen what others do in Rooney, sure he's had a few good sparks in the past, but there's no consistency that you see in the ronaldo's of the world.

They are worse than fucked with him playing.

IMO Rooney isn't as good as the papers say he is. Yes he has flashes of brilliance at his top form other than that he can disappear out of a game. Since March he's been crap and a waste of a clean shirt. Great players don't go completely off the boil for 8 months.

ManU would be wise to sell him and re-invest the money in other departments.

Rooney would be wise to move and see if he can restart his career.

Man City or Chelsea would be taking a gamble. IMO

Ross 10-19-2010 10:45 AM

I can't believe he wants to leave United, something must have happened to trigger this. I like Wayne Rooney, I love his endeavor and dig he gives to the team. I think if he went to City, he'd be unstoppable with the finances + type of player they can attract with him in the line up.

Hehehe Rooney ain't wearing that pants and his wife wants him dead.
Oh Rooney, grow some balls will ya.

Hmm, he's scored 1 so far this season, is overhyped, overpriced, and thick as a board. Maybe America is an option?

Rooney is a piece of shit. He's been playing like garbage since the end of last year and instead of working out out like a man, he wants a transfer. Let him go, the guy was nothing compared to Ronaldo and I see Berbatov being even better than Rooney this year. With Nani emerging as well, get another superstar for Rooney and let that clown finish his career as a failure.

old mother fucker will ruin MU :d just kidding, he know to trow shit away

Man U look like fucking idiots now if you ask me. He signs a new 5 year contract. And probably gets about another 50k onto his wages. Well done Rooney and his agent.

He's been fucking shit this year and should have found himself lucky to get a contract with the same wages he was already on.

Fuck him! Hope he plays the rest of this season the same way he started it. PISS !!!

But he will not be able to assist United on the pitch for a little bit as he spends the next three weeks recovering from an ankle injury, which was the cause of so much angst in the first place.

I thought he said a few days ago there was NO injury ???

The Demon 10-23-2010 07:25 AM

If Rooney and Berbatov ever played at their best at the same time, they would own the league. Instead you get one player playing great one year, and another one playing great the next.

i think he will still be sold in the summer, maybe even in january, but they'll get more for him now, than with only a year left on his contract. there's not many players (if any) who annoy ferguson and stay. he let beckham, stamm, keane and loads of other top players go, and rooney will be no different.

They might sell him but to be honest if he starts scoring again, i think they'll keep him for a few years yet...

yeah maybe, but he was prepared to let van nilstroy go. ferguson can cut his nose off to spite his face sometimes. we shall see.

Lifer 10-24-2010 10:32 AM

I am very glad to see him leave!!

What a wanker he is... making tons of money and crying his ass off that MU won't spend the money for good players to come to MU

Rooney did a fantastic job at the World Cup games... er, oh yeah... I'm sorry... what was that exactly?? A couple assists in total??

I am no fan of Sir Alex... but MU bent over backwards to promote this non-talent during his stay.

Honestly... I never ever really saw Rooney have a fantastic game

So I say... Good riddance

After he leaves MU, he will get cut from his next team... and he'll be offered a fraction of what he makes today

Absolutely over rated, over paid, and over sold in my opinion

If you made a list of top strikers in Europe or only the UK, Rooney would be at the bottom
