ISPrime - how to get quick SSH access to my RCN data backup?

I know you guys are bit thrown left, right and center at the moment, which is understandable, but I would like SSH access to the backups from RCN asap please - icq's of "we're dealing with things as fast as we can, things are hectic" are nice and all, but I would just like to get my data somewhere else asap so I can get sites back online. Every day is lots of $ lost....

RCN said you have the backups, so a SSH login and I'll take care of the rest should be one-less thing to trouble you with?

Thanks

with 4 red dots, you can stand in line like the rest of them - I want BRO treatment dammit :winkwink::thumbsup jk - we're all in this together.

Seriously, I'm glad this was outsourced to someone that could handle things - I just want them to handle it sooner rather than later...

and yes, the call was answered with " you will be contacted when we have all details of your backup blah blah blah"

Of course this is all predicated on the assumption that the backup really does exist. I am beginning to have my doubts.

I?ll also add on a personal note, to the best of my knowledge, only a small percentage of RCN?s customers were paying for backup, and RCN had the majority of their customers backed up at RCN?s cost, even if they were not paying for backup services. While this is a disaster, and a very difficult situation for everyone involved, RCN?s customers are very lucky that a backup does exist for nearly all customers, with likely only a few exceptions.

Customers are indeed quite lucky. Pay for backups people! No matter how good your host is, shit can happen.

Finally got somewhere on ICQ 20 hours ago saying they'd get me ftp access in 3 hrs...

still nothing and now no contact....

ftp is shit for tons of data where rsync is far superior. However, just right now, I'd take ftp than nothing!

Guess they must be very very busy - I hope they get more people in to deal with these support requests...

signupdamnit 10-19-2010 02:38 PM

borked, wtf? I would of thought you'd know better than to not have local backups. Say it isn't so. :disgust Good luck to you however.
