Why Reality Check Network does not release rouge employee name?
If it was my network and I knew the employee then first I would inform the police.
Then I would warn all other hosting companies so they would not hire him/her and become a victim like myself. Hey, maybe there is some privacy issue or law I don't know about and they don't want to get into trouble themselves. However, if they have enough evidence to announce how the attack happened and they know for sure it was an employee then that tells me that they know all they need to know to go after the employee. What they claimed the employee did is in fact a crime. At the lowest level it would still be vandalism of (software/proprietary) property. Maybe I'm not understanding the situation correctly. Someone help me out here. Thanks. |
Maybe they are not 100% sure yet.

If they know exactly who it was and some sort of charges aren't filed, that's pretty fucked.

maybe asking their lawyer if they can release details
|
Maybe they want to pursue a proper legal action?
In that case blasting him on boards would be short-sighted. |

Could be the things already mentioned. Could also be that the employee has some dirt on them too.

If they don't have proof that an employee did it then they shouldn't blame it on an employee at all at this point. Just say "we were compromised and are still investigating it". If they are worried about the employee suing them for making it public then they should also worry about getting sued for making it known in-house also, since the other employees are going to discredit this person on any job they move on to. In other words : Whispering in your ear that somebody sucks does not protect me if it's not true and you run out and spread the news yourself. I would simply be sued for whispering the untrue stuff to begin with. |
uh, how about they finish resolving their issue before they worry about posting on message boards and getting involved in forum drama?

Of course it's not a former employee, that's just a lame excuse

was to blame. :2 cents: |
What you know and what you can prove are usually very different things.
They have nothing to gain financially by going public with his name, but if their proof wont hold up in court, he has a lot to gain by suing them. Especially now that he needs a job and may not have an easy time working in the same field. |

Just announce the compromise and that it's being investigated. Everyone else that works there has to know who is being referred to as a "rouge employee". I mean, how many people quit that day? :1orglaugh |
because they are red in the face?
