Bought a tube script in the last 2 years? How did things turn out?
 

So you bought a tube script a while ago and built a tube site.

So what was the results of making a tube site?

My results : Saved some dying TGPs from completely dying but no "real" money.

I did. Doing decent. Not much work either. You should add an option for making "some money" lol not just Rich and broke

Started from scratch in 2008 (no previous experience in porn), site is making money with minimal effort.

I've made some extra money but yes "Still waiting to get rich" mostly applies. It hasn't been what I'd call lucrative. I have one decent tube domain (and many others not so great) which has helped but it's nothing compared to say Shap's Gaytube.com. You probably aren't going to get rich from opening a tube ("legal" or otherwise) unless you have some other advantage (great brandable domain, traffic source, etc) working for you. Not in 2010 anyway. :2 cents:

I might vote "I got rich" if I sold a tube script however.:winkwink:

With tubes its the same as everything, you gotta work to make money.

correct, it takes much more then just installing a script.

At least get a decent design for example, some default crap looking tube template won't get you anywhere

Not just that, you gotta write unique titles/descriptions to so google is well fed too. Doesn't work too well if you add in 50k hosted flvs with the same titles and descriptions as a million other sites.

I'm damn sure that everyone knows that and did all they knew how to do to
make the site work.

It's just arrogant bullshit to come into this thread and accuse people of "not working"
because they didn't achieve the goals they wanted. By your arrogant logic none of
the previous search engine companies did any work since they fail next to google.

Furthermore, not every one has the same things to "work with".
For example, some people can't afford to buy massive amounts of traffic for
months in a row to jump start a tube while others can buy the traffic and then
sit back and tell everyone else "you don't work as hard as me".

Also, some webmasters don't steal content and do obey sponsor rules about posting
their videos.

It takes some work, time and dedication to make a site succesful, it's not just installing some tube script and sit back and wait till nothing happens.

No, I didn't take it as a personal attack. But don't you think you are assuming
the worst in people to insinuate that all they did was install the script and then
basically walk away from it expecting it to run itself?

Well I have seen many sites only installing some script and barely spend time on creating a nice unique template.

Well, the truth is, that is what they must be doing. Otherwise they'd be making money. Google loves tubes. If you build one, put many hours into it and setup good trades you'll see great results in 4 to 6 months. The same is true if you build it and buy 25k visitors a day for just as many months.

You would be very, very surprised just how many people think it works like that. I see alot less of that now, but when tubes first started getting popular, alot of people were expecting that you can dump 100000 15sec videos from FHGs in with default titles written by the sponsors or no titles at all, and become the next redtube overnight. As I said, people have really smartened up and realized they need to work towards it now, but a year or two ago that was a very common approach. The tubes that make the most money have guys hired to rewrite every single title/description.
