Probably nothing will happen of this. Sadly, Asians are pretty much the only minority group that comics and jerkoffs can make insensitive comments about....with relative impunity.

This Shaq incident may piss some Asian people off but Asians, on the average, reject political controversy and focus on pursuing the American Dream. It seems they care less about what people call them as long as they get the opportunity to compete and build assets. That's why, on some income/education indices, they outrank native born whites.

I know, my girlfriend's family is first generation Cambodian. Came to the US penniless and got on welfare. After 8 years, they own over a dozen apartment buildings and the whole clan now lives in a complex in Brentwood. I'm sure not all Asians follow this trajectory, but you get the point.... different strokes for different folks.

That article did make one good point. If a white player made monkey sounds at a black player the white player would have been fined, suspended and roasted in the media as a racist. His team, his manager, his family would have all been crucified as supporters of a racist.

This article definitely brings up some good points. As mentioned earlier, if it was a white player against a black player, all hell would break loose. This is what I hate about the whole move to equality - includes feminism and racism etc. - the scales have tipped in the opposite direction.

I was agreeing with the article until the end where he mentioned how the Asians in chinatown would "break him down." Which I think directly implies that Asians are better than him and also implies they would take justice into their own hands.

Apart from that, this was supposed to be a news article. Last I checked, news articles were never meant to contain personal opinions.

I wouldn't be surprised if the author of the article was racist to at least some degree as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning what Shaq said by any stretch of the imagination. I just don't think the author was entirely in the right either.
