Crazy violence in Mexico!

Pretty tough country to be a police officer. Mexican investigator in Falcon Lake case beheaded

Do you think the Mexican Government will be able to sustain itself or will Mexico become a powder keg and implode?

Elli 10-12-2010 01:56 PM

My prediction:

Mexico will be called a 'failed state'
perhaps default on loans
most definitely will be blamed for violence in the US
which will make it easier to call for a "north american union"

dyna mo 10-12-2010 01:57 PM

that entire story is insane!

chronig 10-12-2010 01:58 PM

Mexico seems crazy as shit right now, has been for the past year.

xcode 10-12-2010 07:52 PM

this here in mexicos frontier are very complicated, the cartel leaders where captured so their followers are fighting for the leadership of the groups

terrible

Socks 10-12-2010 10:22 PM

Apparently moving large quantities of cocaine across the border is dangerous. Who knew.

The reality is that the majority of the killings are in the northern border states and something like 90% of the murders since 2006 are directly related to drug trafficking.

Also, Mexico is quite far down the list of per capita deaths by country, even with all the recent violence.

I wouldn't say it's safe, but it's not what the US media plays it out to be.

We all can't live in a police state, can we. ;)

ya, they don't play in Mexico.

Bird 10-13-2010 03:27 AM

Something about Zapata and Texas is very fishy. All this violence over cocaine could this be the real operation Zapata witch killed JFK.

cykoe6 10-13-2010 03:31 AM

Seems like it might be time to properly seal the border. :2 cents:

I never would have guessed that based on the massive media coverage of all this violence

Paul Markham 10-13-2010 06:38 AM

The real cost of drugs.

It makes what the Mafia did during prohibition pale by comparison.

fatfoo 10-13-2010 07:10 AM

The decapitation is unfortunate.

is it any wonder why so many people are trying to get out of Mexico?

Niktamer 10-13-2010 07:50 AM

i spent 6 months in Play del Carmen , in the Riviera Maya , yucatan (45 min from cancun) last year and it was perfectly safe..

ok ok i was in a gated community withy a private security.. but still when you live in touristic area .. they all live from the tourist money and everybody know that you dont touch the tourists.

dyna mo 10-13-2010 08:28 AM

mexico has a long tradition of shit like this. years & years. sad and tragic, but nothing new and mexico certainly won't implode over this event.

michael.kickass 10-13-2010 10:54 AM

Mexico has had a tradition of violence but in the past few years that violence has escalated to new levels. A few years back they killed people with bullets, now they began chopping heads off.
