Intel 5 how much ram

Im buying a new PC , Im told the new intel 5 is way faster with just 2 gig of ram raher than 4 in daul core.
Has anyone got one and can offer advice?

Maybe it's faster when you just have Notepad.exe open... But I think 2 GB is too little. When you start to have several apps open you'll see that your PC becomes a slow ass shit cunt. I'd go for more RAM.

I assume you're talking about the Core i5? The CPU itself will be just as fast, regardless of the amount of ram you use. Actually Win7 will be faster with 4GB of ram rather than just 2GB. I wouldn't go any lower than 4GB these days.

4GB minimum and if you wanna run some virtual machines or do some heavy apps, why not spend some extra bucks and get 8GB ( go for W7 64bit then). Your computer will work much smoother.

I have intel i5 2.27ghz running on 4gb ram, shes sweet... I think you need the 4 or more for the 64bits.

i5 are very fast & smooth :)

I've got the i5 750 running with 8 gig on Win 7 64. It's a beast.

get as much as you can, at least 4GB but probably no more than 8GB unless you are doing some really hardcore work...

I run 8gb. Ram is cheap enough that when upgrading I just jam as much of it in there as will fit...

BestXXXPorn 10-11-2010 07:55 AM

I never put less than 8GB of RAM in a machine these days...
