SKNA: My address is a P.O.Box

When i opened my epassporte account i used a P.O.Box as the address, i don't like the idea of receiving a debit card in my mailbox, in the street, where someone could steal it.

Now, i have to send documents to SKNA that include a utility bill, but obviously none of the bills have the P.O. Box as address, my identity card (i have no passport) doesn't also.

Are any of you in the same situation? I know most of you have p.o.box for your businesses, so it shouldn't be too strange.

What kind of solution you got for this issue?

You are kidding me with this statement right?

"i don't like the idea of receiving a debit card in my mailbox, in the street, where someone could steal it."

Don't you mean you don't like the idea of the IRS tracking you down if they ever audited you?

What have taxes to do with p.o.boxes? a P.O. Box is a safe place to receive letters, a mailbox in the street isn't.

All p.o. boxes are registered and owner information can be easily got by government, a p.o.box is not a way to avoid taxes.

I have 5000 webmasters signed up to one of our systems, not 1 with a PO box as we do not allow it.....

A PO box to most people scream shady

You may have a problem ever getting your money to be honest and this could be one of the reasons ST, K and Visa flagged Epass

Most well known companies use p.o.boxes, i've been using it the last 20 years with no problem.

I live in a rural area between sacramento and lake tahoe that does not have mail boxes, we have po boxes only, my epassporte is also setup with a po box since all my credit cards are with a po box.

As mentioned by someone else, many large reputable mainstream companies use a PO box.. EVEN THE IRS uses a PO box in a ton of different states for sending in forms and payments.

We started using a PO box back in 1995 when we first started selling videos, primarily because a "fan" flew out from the opposite fucking coast to meet us without any warning.. (he said he was on business.. but whatever.. but he came to the house to meet my wife over an obsession created by a grainy VHS video.. lol who the fuck does that??) trust me, that only has to happen once before you start to freak out.. And around that same time, my sister asked why a porn site was in our name (she googled our address).. between both of those issues, we got a po box and a separate phone number for the business.

Our business name is tied to our po box, and we belong to over 400 affiliate programs.. I have only come across 2 (maybe 3) that do not allow po boxes, but they made an exception for us (after volunteering our residential address for their records, and just asking that all snail mail go to the po box).

More reasons for a po box other than what I said above:
For domain name registrations (even though we have the info set to private, I might miss a domain or two once in awhile)

I do not want my mailman seeing 10+ checks a week pile into my mailbox addressed to our business name that can be googled, nor do I want him seeing the return addresses. Not only that, but there are those bogus domain registry scam letters that get mailed constantly and on a ton of them they say the actual domain name in the friggin address window.

To me, a po box just makes sense.. both privacy and safety wise for adult businesses.

LMFAO! A PO box does not help with tax evasion.. having a po box does not make a 1099 "disappear" lol

Every thread comes with a mention of the IRS as standard.

wyldblyss 10-08-2010 03:03 PM

Call your Utility company and tell them you need to change your address to send your bills to because people keep stealing your mail. Then ask them to send you a copy of your last utility bill because you never received it.

Good idea!

But there is still a problem, my ID can't have a p.o.box, and skna also asks for an identification document

You realize some places in the US mail does not get delivered to the house and you have to have a PO box right?

sandman! 10-08-2010 03:28 PM

Ohh i understand why people have them and i can completely see why they can be usefull.
Especially when dealing with crazy porn consumers :2 cents:
There is a use for these with Business to consumer for sure.

However i would NEVER use a PO for anything important such as banking.
Nor would i EVER send a PO address to anyone that i am doing a serious business deal with B2B.

And i have never, not in 10 years had one sent to me.

EDIT: What a creapy story though, :(

I use my p.o.box for almost all banks, a mailbox in the street is unsafe, why would i want to receive banking documents in a mailbox that anyone can open?

That's why i have it, in my house the postman sometimes delivers other people's letters in my mailbox, i don't feel safe

HomerSimpson 10-08-2010 04:19 PM

just tell them that you have moved out of the box and that you live on current address
and that you want your card mailed in there and problem is solved :)

sologirlcontent 10-08-2010 05:47 PM

you may be up shit creek with a turd paddle

I did use our residential address for epassporte.. (and my business checking account has both addresses on file but mail goes to the po box).

And most of my big customers do get invoiced using my residential address, but through my other business that is non-porn related and tied to my home address.
