Ways to make webmastering easier. Some ideas and looking for more suggestions

Windows 7

First I think windows 7 snap feature has made me more productive. Doing blog posts and copying links from a sponsor to a post is a lot easier now. Makes getting promo tools and adding them a lot easier. Link trades are easier aswell.

Speed Dial for firefox

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4810/

Makes it really easy to find what I want to open without searching through bookmarks. I still use bookmarks for varios things like threads here etc. But my main visited sites are all on speed dial, just 1 or 2 clicks away.

Linkspun

jdoughs and drocd, you have made trading links a whole lot easier :thumbsup

A Netbook

I haven't put this one into practice yet, but I am planning on buying a netbook specifically for IM (ICQ, SKYPE, MSN Etc.) Emails and Social sites.

What I am think is, if I have one with about 9 hours life (roughly the amount of time I would need for a days work) I can have this sat next to me running my messages and emails. Freeing up resources and space on my main computer.

Having it set aside would also allow me to concentrate on more tasks.

What are your ways to make webmastering easier? Software, plugins, general lifestyle changes etc. that make your day easier?

Post them up! :thumbsup

didn't you get the news? today is Virtual Visa ATM day... no biz on gfy... ;)
j/k

my favorite helpers are:
  • notepad++ - bets text editor available
  • Windows Live Writer - I just love this blog posting tool
  • jruler - nifty little ruler, helps me to measure pics, etc
I'm sure there are tons more, but these are the ones that come to my head now :thumbsup

I forgot one,

ColorZilla for firefox

http://www.colorzilla.com/firefox/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/271/

This is brilliant for finding colours on websites and copying them to photoshop or whatever you need. :thumbsup

Multiple monitors and Ultramon. If you're not using this combination yet, it is worth trying.

LastPass is also nice.

VirtuaWin really boosts my productivity. I have Desktops setup for specific tasks so I can flip to one and get work done with no distractions.

Speed Dial looks a bit like Chrome's start page.

That looks very useful!

Was thinking of going to a 2 monitor set-up actually. Maybe 3. Haven't got the room at the moment though :(
