I went to cash a check from a sponsor using wells fargo bank, they don't have any in florida and i'm not waiting 10 business days for my damn bank to make the funds available.
So i went to the "check cashing store", there i see that they have a pre-paid gold mastercard, no credit check, no id check, no social security required.
I understand that visa has the same kind of product available, we're not talking about epassport, since you need a credit card to recharge your epassport (i guess, you can use your pre-paid mastercard :( )
Someone else on this board wrote about this, what kind of shit is that???
That just kills the avs model, since anyone can get one of those prepaid card, how u gonna know if they're over 18 or not. don't u think it's a conspiracy between the credit cards companies and the government??? mr right ashhahahahaha is going to come after us and say:
*you got freesite, you gotta go because anybody can access your site
*you got avs or paysite, you gotta go because you cannot guarantee the person behind the card is over 18

There is a reason that agecheck is no longer agecheck.

For a while visa (pretty sure the word came down from them) was insisting that all avs sites refrain from the wording that they were an AGE CHECK... and most have taken on the wording ADULT CHECK or ADULT VERIFIER.

I assume this is because Visa does not want to be linked to any sort of confirmation that those getting into avs sites are actually adults.

If you read any of the terms of the avs sites...they are worded that "by paying for and entering into agreement with avs xxx you are verifying you are an adult and can access ya da ya da"

AVS systems never say they are guaranteeing anything.
