I am also rooting for stronger dollar, but they are doing this on purpose and trying their best to keep their currency weak and so are the Japanese, Brazilians, and probably many others as well. Times are pretty tough and stronger currency means lower exports and shitload of other negative consequences…. Of course, there are probably external factors at play here as well, but keeping the interest rates low certainly doesn’t promote stronger dollar.

It's cuz of the stock market continuing to go up despite economy not getting much better if at all better, so dollar has to go down to compensate. Drop the stock market back down to what it SHOULD be and the dollar should be worth a better amount. Will that happen? Probably not any time soon, so dollar will continue to get fucked.
