It was only $XXX, I know its not much but...WTF is up with that?
you wont see too many rants from me but...
<rant>Fuck that! I see a lot, and I mean a surprisingly large number of people who start conversations about epass by saying something like "it was only $300/$400/$500 etc" like somehow that diminishes their loss. Fuck that, you earned that money and the amount is not relevant. This may come across as fucked up but for someone who really needs it I feel much more sympathy for those who do not have access to those smaller amounts then someone who is not living week to week not having access tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars There have been times in my life (thank god not right now) where every single dollar mattered. There was no minor expenses at those time and every slice of bread had a monetary value that I was well aware of. I feel bad for everyone who has taken a hit with this epass thing, yes I have some money tied up with it right now, but the amount of cash doesn't matter and I think a lot of people saying 'it's only $XXX' need to stop minimizing their potential loss and stop saying that</rant> |
Nice rant.

people are just trying to justify it and rationalize the loss in their heads.
I have a couple hundred stuck on the virtual visa that I'm really hoping to get out tomorrow. That money was earmarked for domains and hosting. |
I know it is not the case but it almost comes across like people are apologizing for the fact that they didnt lose $10k or something. If I won the lottery tomorrow and someone stole $10 from me I'd be pissed off and I didnt even work for that money.
I think a lot of the smaller players work really hard for that cash they make and it hits them even harder then the ones who lost several times more money if you lost $25 or $25,000+ I feel bad for ya and hope you get that cash out successfully |
I have some people owing me $x.xxx and i dont care anymore, simply beacuse chasing that causing too much headache.

I took a hit for under a grand, sucks but not as much as when jettis vanished with all my rebills earlier this year.
|
1000 people accepting $500 as an unfortunate loss is a nice amount of money to disappear with.

I also was in a position a few years back of having a pound meant i could eat and from that, even today a pound stolen is the same as a hundred pound or ten thousand. |

I remember my grandmother who used to stuff money in jars that she hid in her closet because of the depression. My grandparents did use banks but she held onto that cash in those jars until a few years before she passed. That woman did not take a penny for granted |
anything under $1k is nothing, not worth crying over, it still sucks losing it, but in grand scheme of things it's insignificant...
