Slavery started as an innocent idea

Excessive Government regulation is what created evil slavery. Before that, slavery was good. Thank you Glenn Beck for giving us the truth.

Quote:

The President is exactly right when he said ?slaves sitting around the campfire didn?t know when slavery was going to end, but they knew that it would. And it took a long time to end slavery.? yes it did. But it also took a long time to start slavery.

And it started small, and it started with seemingly innocent ideas. And then a little court order here, and a court order there and a little regulation here and a little more regulation there. And before we knew it, America had slavery.

It didn?t come over in a ship to begin with, as an evil slave trade. The government began to regulate things because the people needed answers and needed solutions. It started in a court room then it went to the legislatures. That?s how slavery began. And it took a long time to enslave an entire race of people, and convince another race of people that they were somehow or another, less than them. But it can be done.

I would ask you to decide, are we freeing slaves? Or are we creating slaves? That?s a question that must be answered.

people don't kill people, regulations do

Glenn Beck is a big fat idiot and knows nothing about history.

http://www.africanaonline.com/2010/0...-colonial-era/

Slavery in the Colonial Era

"Slavery spread quickly in the American colonies. At first the legal status of Africans in America was poorly defined, and some?like European indentured servants?managed to become free after several years of service.

From the 1660s, however, the colonies began enacting laws that defined and regulated slave relations; central to these laws was the provision that black slaves, and the children of slave women, would serve for life. By the eve of the American Revolution, slaves constituted about 40 percent of the population of the southern mainland colonies, with the highest concentration in South Carolina, where well over half the population were slaves."

Possibly. Egypt had quite the empire.

It's more about the individual, I think. Back in the ancient times, every slavemaster was different. Some are more cruel than others. Some slavemasters gave their slaves freedom.

The concept that one person can physically own another person, and that "owned" person has no rights at all stuns me when I try to think about it.

When I look back at racism in our country it makes me laugh. To think that one kind of a race isn't good enough do this or that, or that one race is smarter than another. LOL. Idiots.

You do realize slavery was around centuries before the US was settled by Europeans, right?

Easy for you to quote one of the greatest that if you ever really read him he doesn't want to be quoted :1orglaugh... not to think for yourself it's the true "slave morality".

?You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.?

? Friedrich Nietzsche

Actually, I prefer Von Schelling and Spinoza, and they would both probably agree that aphorisms do not exist.

The moment you start to believe you are "thinking for yourself", you've been had.
