Maui, Hawaii - B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell has been charged with drunk driving while holidaying in Hawaii.

Police on the island of Maui say Campbell was arrested at 1:23 a.m Friday and charged.

Campbell was holidaying in Maui at the time.

A Maui police sergeant says the premier spent some time in jail before posting bail.

Campbell was released after posting bail of $257.

He is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges on March 25.

So far, there has been no comment from the premier's office.

How does that work? Does he lose his license in Canada now too? He better.

These fuckers want to put in these insanely strict drunk driving laws... they should have to deal with the laws they pass themselves.

Losing your license for 1 year for a first offence is suitable, but these new ignition lock systems they put in your car for 1 year after you get your license back stink of shit to me.

I hope he has to install one of those.
