Anybody else have a really bad sales day on Tuesday Sept 28th?
For the past month sales have been really good. However out of the blue Tuesday Sept 28th we experienced a huge drop. Every site, every type of traffic and all processors. I haven't seen anything like this in a long time. I'm just wondering did anybody else experience the same? It was so bad we ripped through every server, every tour page looking to see where something was screwed up. We never found anything. Everyday since has been better (and yesterday was amazing).
Just wondering if anybody else had the same. |
It makes you really think don't it?
it is very strange but that day i had worst day in last few months ... eruptions on sun? :)
Just checked my stats. Tuesday, September 28th was one of the worst days for us over the previous full year, smack dab in the middle of our best month ever. I knew we had one of those days last month just couldn't remember which day it was. Checked and sure enough it was that day. Overall revenue that day was down 40% from average. Initial signups that day were down 50% from average. We're on CCBill.
So, there's my input. If you figure out if anything weird happened, let me know so I can fix it. :-) |
It was a very bad day for sales. I made one less than I did the same day the month before.
Haha, really :) So nothing noticeable actually. Sometimes this shit just happens. |
yep! kept switching between CCBILL and Epoch - nothing helped, in fact it might have been the worst day i've had in 4 years. and it was both new joins and rebills.
and weird, as an affiliate it was not such a horrible day, not great but not bad. |
yup - I saw it too. Same traffic level etc.. revenue -50%.
it was an average day for my program.. must be rolling merchant account shaving shap ;)
We saw the same thing. We run mobile on NetBilling and PC on Epoch, so normally if there is an off day you can attribute it to mobile or PC. Not on the 28th - down across all processors.
We do heavy QC everyday, especially with all the mobile devices. We too were going through any changes we made seeing if it had any adverse affect, QC'ing like crazy and not finding anything. Bah, I hate unexplainable bad sales days. It got a little bit better on the 29th but still not great. My Facebook update for the 29th at night: Kristin Winters can't figure it out. Glad sales are back to normal; actually doing really good this weekend. =) |
Just checked Statsremote and it was pretty decent.
No issues on the 28th, but we use Merchant Billing.
Last week of Sept sucked overall.
Interesting to see how many people suffered the same
my stats were fine, nothing extraordinary
it's just statistics... one day is good, the other day it's worse, but it all evens out when you count the whole 30 days |
Sales were halfway decent for me that day. My last really bad day was Saturday the 25th.
My sales on the 28th sucked, just 25% of the daily average for Sept.
Strange that from review site traffic 28th was a very good day
Was average. Nothing special either way.
not very good on the 28th
but the 29th was the horrible day until night time overall both 28th and 29th were the worst days of sept |
one of our better days!
Sales were off on that day but I usually discount it as the Tuesday thing - traditionally the worst day of the week for sales. Of course, that always applied to retail sales but I've always noticed Tuesdays not so great for some reason. September was epic for us at PeabodyCash but yeah, that one day sucked donkey balls.
