Are they Gila Monsters?

They have lizards running around over there? Or is that in a zoo?

On our last night in Amsterdam we were walking back to the hotel when we walked by this small grassy area, with all these "lizards." goodgirl stood back a ways and I got as close as I thought I could get, then used the zoom lens to get closer.

It was the end of a long day in Amsterdam, so my vision was not quite clear. I could not tell if they were even real. When we got to our hotel I asked the night manager and he said they were salamanders and that they did not like it if you got too close to them. That was enough for us.

We got up extra early the next day so we could get some shots of them in the daylight before we flew home. goodgirl was convinced they had moved. I am not so sure.
