I'm thinking of a slight career change. . .
into web consultancy / project management.
By this I mean negotiating with clients about their requirements, what will work for them, what wont and most importantly, why! Then also project management, including planning, construction and evaluating a whole web project. Maybe working full time for someone else or finding a reliable development partner. Like what i do now only more in depth and minus the design and programming! Anyone know if theres much demand for this out there? |
I moved my focus to doing just that same thing a few years back and now am trying my hardest to come up with something else.
If you think that dealing with cheap, know it all adult webmasters is a lot...wait until you know deal with cheap, know it alls who actually know nothing at all. This sums it up perfectly. I'm sure you've seen it before. http://theoatmeal.com/comics/design_hell If you want to do this. Find a company to give you a job doing it for them. Much less stress. Much less hassle. My girl does this and I'd kill to switch places with her. At 5pm every day, she's done. No more worries. |

Do you not enjoy your design work?

Those who can, do... Those who can't, teach (or consult).

i still love it and its not due to a lack of money, just want a change.
Nothing radical though! |
