How come CCbill, Epoch etc don't process subscriptions for Russians/Eastern Europe?

Is there a company that does? Maybe they would stop stealing everyone's content if they could join? Sorry if I sound naive, just wondering....

Most of Russians do not have CCs that can pass through known billings.

They do pay for paysites through their local sms-billings. And it was booming 2 years ago. However, as Russian pay site operators tend to rip-off their customers - for example it says $1 on subscription page, but you actually get billed $30 - Russian customers are already scared and tend to be less and less willing to pay for porn sites.

Russia is corrupt and activities the West considers criminal are normal everyday practice there. criminal activity is not hidden in Russia, it is bragged about. the Russian government even did a DOS attack on another country's govt web infrastructure - and admitted it.

I never had a Russian join one of the paysites that I promote (at least from the ones that show me country info).
I've been to Russia. They just don't have the money.
And the ones that do have the money probably run their own paysites...

You know that CC's issued in Russia are not accepted by loads of international billing companies and online shops. If everyone had an internationally accepted CC and CC's would be so common in Russia, why would SMS billing be so popular and the preferred way for Russians to pay online??

Because all these SMS "clients" are children of age less than 14 who don't have a VISA/MC and pay for porn via SMS. The older people:
1) can get laid with a real women instead of paying the money just to jerk off;
2) Russians use VISA/MC only to pay in shops/cafes, for ATM's withdraw and for local online orders such as flight tickets etc;
3) most of Russians are afraid to use their credit cards on paysites (thanks to the domestic media which says: if you paid for porn online, say bye-bye to your money).

Well, a couple of friends living in Russia had issues with their CC's issued by Russian banks indeed, not only once. And I really completely disagree with you about credit cards being so common. CC's still are in no way as common in Europe as in the USA for example.

Russian traffic converts 1:1200 for us, not counting sms billing which doesnt factor into join ratios. There are countries (ie South America) which are doing MUCH worse.
