Registrars?

I've never really moved my domains around much, so I don't have knowledge of a lot of the various registrar names. I want to window shop though, and would appreciated any and all help towards getting a list together.

moniker.com - the best one

there are a number out there but until you run into problems, they are all much the same.

i mainly use godaddy just because with the coupons, they are by far the cheapest.

then moniker, a bit more expensive but i keep my 'best' domains there.

namecheap..i never used them much simply because for whatever reasons i never get emails saying my domains are/have expired and have lost a few because of it.

dotster- to damn expensive and if they like your domain name and let it expire in less than 2 weeks, it could be gone.

enom reseller - enom itself charges like 35 bucks so you need to go through a reseller but these guys could disappear tomorrow then you'd be screwed. the only decent enom reseller really is namecheap.

are there really any others even worth mentioning?

there are a shit ton out there answerable, mydomain, netsol but why even bother using these guys?

I use GoDaddy since 2004
I never had a problem with them!

Using GoDaddy since 2003 no problems with them

Namecheap is who I am potentially looking to move away from.

I used to use GoDaddy in the past, with no issues. They would be last on my list though, because they didn't try to keep me as a customer when they already had me. I left them because of the vast difference in their prices of their domain privacy vs the Namecheap price for the same.

I agree, Black Crayon, there is not a point in looking in to most of them. I just want long standing actual registrars, not resellers.

I wonder at what price point it would be effective to be your own enom reseller.
