I'm watching the Barrett Jackson automobile auction live on TV coming from the Mandaly Events Center in Vegas. Lots of super nice cars going up on the block and they said around 8:30 tonight they will be putting up a Bugatti Veyron for auction with NO RESERVE.

It's about a $1.7 million car and someone could steal it for a fraction of the cost :)

That's some shit right there.

Also putting up a 2009 SLR Mclaren convertible with 600 miles.

I wonder if FTV Rob is cleaning out his garage :winkwink:

The winning bidder backed down when told to pay up claiming he wasn't really bidding so Mr. Jackson of Barrett Jackson went ahead and bought the car himself so the seller could get his money.

On a side note, the seller of the Veyron had the winning bid on a VW Micro Bus at $100K so he just sold his 08 Veyron with 11,000 miles for 1 million less than he paid for it and then way over paid for the Micro Bus.

Either he can't decide what kind of VW he wants or the auction has an open bar :upsidedow

i don't get why peeps are so smitten with the veyron, it's not particularly good looking, it's a several year old design (ages in the supercar world).

and there are other cars out there faster........
