Google -> Gmail -> Youtube - More invasions of privacy
This type of thing really gives me the shits.
Has anyone else experienced this ? Login to youtube and get an invite to subscribe to someone's channel on youtube. This channel is associated with an email address that you have in your gmail account. I'm not tlaking about a contact, someone that you have had a small conversation with ie selling item on ebay etc.. Fuck you google! :321GFY |
What is even worse they keep asking you for your mobile number and all new gmail accounts require this. Of course you can buy a $2 sim card but most people will just give away all their details.

I wouldn't hand over a phone number to create an email address, would prefer to buy a $5 domain to use as a shitty email address. I can't believe they can continue to do this type of thing. |
My mom has a youtube account and my gmail :disgust

I'm simply not impressed with me having no say in who knows what I do. |
confirmation via mobile and it's growing prevelance with free online accounts scares the fuck out of me. more and more the proverbial "they" are pushing to link everything they can about you together. google knows most people better than they know themselves these days...

there will be no life if google don't exist.

That's what I love about google... one login, can cross use services and they integrate with others easily & share with others. It makes my life easier, my business moves faster because of the tools they offer and I've learned a huge amount through its services.
I just opened a new gmail/youtube account the other day for a new project. Only took a few minutes and it was done, never had to verify anything. |
You wanna know what else is creepy?
If you use the facebook friend finder, which captures all of your email contacts (including people who emailed you, without you ever sending a reply) it will start suggesting you as a friend to THEM... even if you skip/ignore adding them as a friend when you use the friend finder. That's why people get their ex's suggested as potential friends, all it takes is one inbound email from 5 years ago. lol |
You have the option to NOT link your youtube account to your gmail. I skip it every time.

<---- doesn't trust google one bit...
|
My Android phone is tied directly to my Google account.
If there's something I want to keep private, I don't use electronic communications. It's as simple as that, and if this bothers you now...it's only going to get worse for you from here on out. |

So how is it that co's like google are able to bypass all this with zero problem? I uncheck every single let people find you with your email' however there shouldn't be a need to do this. |
