US Bank that allows foreigner to open bank account remotely?

I need a US bank account that will give me a Visa Electron card tied to my account so I withdraw paypal to it. Anyone know of a bank in USA that's reputable that will let me open an account remotely?

Thanks

k0nr4d 09-23-2010 06:02 AM

No bank will allow this man, they are barely letting their own citizens open and keep accounts heh

james_clickmemedia 09-23-2010 06:09 AM

I doubt any will do that with all the anti money laundering & terrorists stuff they have to be careful of.

They are going to want you to show your passport in person and also have a tax id or ss #, plus a utility bill with US address & your name on it.

I agree..I think this is pretty standard procedure now.

well that's good.... US banks don't loan any more unless you're a millionaire :1orglaugh

fatfoo 09-23-2010 06:14 AM

I thought you can withdraw paypal to an account in USA (such as chequing/savings.)
You can tell paypal your credit card, such as Master Card.

woj 09-23-2010 06:33 AM

good luck with that, forget about opening one remotely, they may even give you a hard time if you try opening one in person..

That's not far from the truth. The USA is on some crazy shit now, all in the name of fighting the war on terror or national security. I can't keep up anymore.

I had a 30k check written to me, but the company name was wrong. It took me 1 year to even get the check so I knew the odds of getting them to correct it were between slim and none. So, I called up Chase (where I had an existing account) and explained my situation.

Even though the check also had my personal name on it, because the business name was wrong, they would not allow me to have it deposited and wait for it to clear. They said I had to open a new account.

Fuck me sideways, that was a pain in the ass.

I'm in Thailand and have been an excellent customer of Chase for a long time. Never an overdraft or any issues at all. I know the branch manager personally. They already had all of my information and knew exactly why I needed a new account.

After I got a new DBA for the new business name (doing everything via postal from Thailand - 2 weeks), it then took THREE MORE WEEKS to get the account opened and I had to send them so much BS paperwork, several times, because they kept saying their never received the fax. I even sent it from online fax services, still they said it never came. Then they said I was missing a form. So we did that song and dance again. Then they said I never sent anything at all and I had to start all over.

It was the biggest cluster fuck I've ever dealt with.

Finally, I got the account open, the check was put in and it cleared. Just in time for them to send me a notice to tell me I was missing documents and they could not open the account until I sent them in. WTF!?!?! I transferred the money out with a quickness and closed the new account.

dready 09-23-2010 07:47 AM

Chase International will do it for personal accounts, but you have to open it in person.

nikad 09-23-2010 08:09 AM

Until last year Wachovia would open an account remotely, you had to send back and forth notarized documentation etc. After it was bought by Wells Fargo, that is not possible anymore.

tiger 09-23-2010 08:13 AM

No US bank will let you do that.

cherrylula 09-23-2010 08:20 AM

yeah fat fucking chance, banking here sucks these days.

dready 09-23-2010 09:01 AM

Thank the Patriot Act for no longer being able to open one remotely.

Fbomb - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-23-2010 09:03 AM

Not going to happen.

SallyRand 09-23-2010 09:04 AM

There are ways for offshore people to work around it.

Just sayin'.

Sally.

kowalsky 09-23-2010 09:04 AM

Beware, maybe they let you open an account and then when you got the money there your account get frozen! :)

for 30k you could open a new DBA and add it to your bank account and deposit it

bolsex 09-23-2010 12:58 PM

ey! Im doing it! You can try with Citibank or HSBC.
If you have an account with them, in your country, at least for 1 year you can request it, but it will not be applicable for all people.
Im opening it right now with citibank, I dont need to go to USA, but i need to fill lot of forms, send papers, all double requested!

SallyRand 09-25-2010 09:11 PM

Trouble verifying? Can't verify? Need to get money out of your ePass Wallet but can't get it done? Other "issues"? I can help you! % adjustable to account volume.

I solve problems.

Wallet only to a USA bank account then unlimited wire transfers, MoneyGram, Western Union, ATM cards, etc to you.

Can do Paypal but remember, Paypal sucks!

Hit me up!

Thanks.

Sally.

I know some adult webmasters here in South America have a bank account in USA, I really don't know how they opened it, since they live here and I doubt the traveled to USA, cause THE TOURIST VISA is almost impossible to get if you are an adult webmaster they reject it instantly on the embassy..

I guess there must be some way to open an account remotely with "contacts"... but purely white-hat its kind of impossible..

.

directfiesta 09-25-2010 09:35 PM

Pre 9/11 .. it was easy .. I opened an account with TD Waterhouse ( then TD bank USA , then TD Bank North and now called TD Bank ... ) on line . Took a day..

Post 9/11, be ready to give your ADN as well as a deep cavity check ...

As for the link above, it is 400.00 .. I would only pay that with a credit card, ready to charge back if they only send you different bank forms where you maybe could open an account ...

If some of you need to withdraw for Epass wallet, I can do 600.00/day from Monday ( already maxed out today ) . Paypal , wire , check ...

SallyRand 09-25-2010 09:42 PM

My fees to adult webmasters and webmistresses caught in the ePass jam start at 20% and go DOWN from there, based on account volume.

some of the big banks have branches in other countries... maybe try that approach?

i dont really know if that will work for you though, but you can check out this list of countries and see if there is an office near you and go talk to someone there

international citigroup locations

Tickler 09-25-2010 11:01 PM

Somebody on another board said that royal bank canada lets you open a USA branch account.

They do : http://www.rbcbankusa.com/specialtyb...cid-96799.html

restrictions apply.

Adam_M 09-25-2010 11:15 PM

I would look into someone like citibank who allow currency accounts

PXN 09-25-2010 11:22 PM

If you mean opening one online, no you can't, but if you come in person some bank will allow it, upon strict verification.

What bank to you use now in your country? Are they affiliated with any banks in the US?

Sid70 09-26-2010 11:22 AM

take a look http://www.offshore.hsbc.com/1/2/

iSpyCams 09-26-2010 11:46 AM

Can a non US person register a US corporation? If so, then the US corporation could then open a US bank account.

I opened both personal and business accounts at B of A from abroad, relatively hassle free without ever going to the US.

Didn't even have to use a proxy or any of that shit. I did have to use a relative's apartment as my US address though.

HomerSimpson 09-26-2010 01:18 PM

how about incorporating in Delaware?

SallyRand 09-26-2010 06:37 PM

I have multiple USA corporations with bank accounts in place. You do not need to own the corporation. You only need to work through the corporation with the USA corporation Business Agent.

You say that like it's a bad thing? Why the fuck should anyone be allowed to open a bank account remotely? That's the dumbest shit I've heard of.
