Are Those Amongst Us NOT Posting Against .xxx Really "Secret" ICM Supporters?

Time to post (I wonder if those in our Industry who don't post against .xxx are secretly associated with icm????? If so, ?????????????????????????????)

Who specifically are those people?

Someone who merely was too "busy" to post against .xxx is one thing, but if someone is in bed with icm, maybe we need to know who they are and not do business with them any more?????

Comments? Names?

Any idea of who we should be "thanking" for them being in favor of .xxx?

If .xxx is approved, it could be devastating for many members/businesses of this fine board.

I did it a while back when someone asked...

If you're wondering why more people aren't rising up it's because most people don't care, they have no reason to care. I'm not trying to be an ass here - just telling you how it is. It has nothing to do with supporting either side, they straight up don't give a shit.

Just the reality of it... maybe a stronger industry wide campaign would have helped, no idea but what I do know people don't believe the hype, thus don't give a shit.

I'll say it again, You fuckers support Xbiz so I support them too by showing my support for .XXX. I've send in a few thousand letters of support using proxies and fake names etc.

Hopefully it'll pass so we can continue to help Xbiz out.

Alright Dave, I will acknowledge that I have been simply too lazy, err scratch that, too BUSY to do anything related to .xxx. Every single person I've run across has told me how bad it will be for the biz. Generally I do my own research before making a decision on anything but I will acknowledge you are an industry legend, skip my personal research and do what you tell me to do.

So, where do I go and what do I do?

Thanks.

I think a lot of people see it as a decision that has already been made and any negative comments will be ignored or glossed over.

You might be right about people's impression, but we haven't lost yet.

So, who are the ones aligned with icm?????

GetSCORECash 09-22-2010 01:58 PM

thread keeps going down, with little to no attention.

That's pretty much it - ever since ICANN opened the door much wider for new TLDs, it seemed inevitable that the possibility of .xxx was going to become a reality. There's only so much that can be done to stop it when the governing domain body wants new extensions and it's a new extension. ICANN could care less about the adult community.

As bad as .xxx would be, I personally think adult has bigger issues to worry about...like tubes, torrents and forums giving all your full-length shit away for free and places like MFC having live feeds of nude models for free. With each passing day, there is less and less a reason to pay for your content, and yes I may be very active here, but my perspective is that of the surfer as I merely sell adult domains vs. being actively involved in adult. Then there's the Epass shit going on, affiliate progs not paying, etc. There are a lot of people facing a lot of issues, and .xxx might seem minor in comparison to some of the others for many of them...you can tell them .xxx will kill their biz, and they'll respond with "well, my biz is already getting killed by X, Y and Z so what's the difference?".

The adult community needs badly to band together to fight most of these issues, and none of the other major problems has caused that to happen, so why would .xxx?

davecummings 09-22-2010 02:11 PM

So, notwithstanding who posted for/against .xxx for whatever reason they had, who is thought to be actually aligned with icm?

Any guesses/info/etc???

Jason Voorhees 09-22-2010 02:11 PM

I support .xxx and am I in bed with ICM? No.

It's not a conspiracy, just because there are supporters, doesn't mean we're in bed with ICM.

docputer 09-22-2010 02:12 PM

I wrote a couple comments. I guess I should try to do more.

Some webmasters I have talked to have been really uninformed about this issue and the implications.
