a Street-Legal and FAA-Approved Flying Car

Quote:

The Transition, a flying car from Terrafugia, Woburn. Mass., is scheduled to go on sale late next year, making it the first FAA-approved and street-legal ?flying car? to hit the market. The 1,440-lb aircraft needed a waiver from the FAA, however, to let it qualify as a light sport craft despite being 120 lb over the limit for such an aircraft.

People only need 20 hr flight time to qualify as pilots...sounds like a recipe for disaster judging how people drive on the ground

Good for them I say! There is no progress without trying things out! There were plenty of people that thought the the Wright brothers were wasting their time with stupid ideas also.

I think its interesting and a step in the right direction.. With a price tag of 190k not many will be used.

Just think, in the future we'll have to get a driving and flying license. I wouldn't want to see how many crashes happen on a Friday or Saturday night after the bars close, ha ha.

I think it's kinda amazing though if you think about the future of travel when they perfect cars like that whereas in an hour, you could travel a couple hundred miles in a flying car.
