Wow, Obama's Stimulus: Audit Reveals it to be a Complete and Total FAILURE in Los Angeles.

Worse than I had even though it would be, WTF?

"I'm disappointed that we've only created or retained 55 jobs after receiving $111 million," says Wendy Greuel, the city's controller, while releasing an audit report.
And...

According to the report, the Los Angeles Department of Public Works generated only 45.46 jobs (the fraction of a job created or retained correlates to the number of actual hours of work) after receiving $70.65 million, while the target was 238 jobs.

Similarly, the city?s department of transportation, armed with a $40.8 million fund, created only 9 jobs in place of an expected 26 jobs.
Works out to roughly $2,000,000 to save 1 government job. :disgust

"The audit says the numbers were disappointing due to bureaucratic red tape, absence of competitive bidding for projects in private sectors, inappropriate tracking of stimulus money and a laxity in bringing out timely job reports."

Translation: the $$ was "stolen"

I cant believe it didnt work? People who have no idea about business who then resort to politics. Controlling the money and wasting it because they have no idea about business.

I AM SHOCKED.

Controlling the money and wasting it is their business.

Without its Military the USA would be a totally useless, meaningless Country in debt for Trillions.

How long until this Country finally collapses?

I am actually ashamed to be an American. Good thing I don't look American so I can hide it when go overseas.

let's rework what you said so everyone can see the truth: 'Even with its Military the USA is a partially useless, meaningless Empire in debt for Trillions.'

if it wasn't the U.S., it would be a different country running things.
if the U.S. collapses, another will take it's place.
it makes exactly zero difference who is "in control" of the strongest military, things will run exactly the same.

Now someone will come along and say "this is only one example." Okay, fine... sue the city of Los Angeles and anyone in charge of that money. Then file criminal charges for pissing away millions of federal tax dollars that were promised to "shovel ready" projects.

If the government can't rein in their own people, can we really trust them to rein in Wall Street and any other industry they are after?

IllTestYourGirls 09-19-2010 12:56 PM

Its only one example, there are 1000s more ;)

It's not our military might. Since WWII the dollar has been the world's reserve currency. Around 80% of the world's debt is in dollars. That artificially props of the demand for dollars allowing us to run up large deficits. When it all comes crashing down, and it will, people living off the government largess are going to be fucked and bad... It will be a shock for everyone actually. Even those who expect it...

who is in charge of what happens to the money once it reaches the citys hands? those people should be fired. if a city is given that much money, i don't see how its the governments fault when they piss it away.

I have to ask if you have ever been overseas. I have been approached by several people since we arrived in Ireland and the response has been nothing but positive. However, more people here approve of Reagan than Obama . . . hands down.
