ipad users - question for you

Hi guys and gals... I know where to go for all you gadget freaks. lol

My daughter is working a lot in graphics and she wants a tablet where she can draw and it shows on the computer. But . she also wants an ipad very bad. I have been told there are apps on the ipad that have the same or similar option for the ipad as the tablet does.. do any of you by chance know which one is the best or would work in the same way?

She desperately wants an ipad for Christmas but needs the tablet and if I can get an ipad to do BOTH then she can benefit...... as well as I can. lol

I purchased the iPad right after it came out, but I'd not recommend it to anyone unless he is 100% certain that this is what he wants.

Not sure what kind of graphic work you are referring to, but iPad can do lot of day to day tablet works, .. but again, for any serious work, i'd go for tablet.

She is looking for something that utilizes pressure points, which isn't something I am familiar with at all..... I am the furthest thing from a designer as it gets when it comes to computers. My artistic talents are on canvas, not computers. lol

I have an ipad and we've downloaded a few things, but I am not totally sure what I am even looking for to find it. :upsidedow

Does she like drawing with her finger? In my opinion, drawing on the iPad sucks. Drawing on my Wacom Graphire wireless tablet is the way to go.

That is the exact one she wants, so I guess she knows what the hell she's talking about. lol

I have an ipad and I love it and she loves it too, in fact I have to pry it away from her. But she loves to work with graphics and drawing, so I just wanted to see if the ipad had those options. I downloaded a few of the free aps to check them out and they aren't so great... but then I don't know exactly what I am looking for, so I am not the one to ask about that. :upsidedow

fris, thanks alot. I am checking these out now. :thumbsup

I love my ipad and use it everyday for surfing from my couch or kitchen.. But if she wants a serious tablet for art and you can afford it might want to check this out

There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY an ipad can even come close to replacing a wacom.

Not even close.

Anyone posting saying it can, really doesn't know what they are talking about.

There are some good drawing apps on the ipad, but nothing LIKE a proper wacom.

At first I was not going to get an Ipad, simply due to the lack of a few features I would like (like a front facing camera) But, I'm leaning more and more to getting one just to show off work to clients in my mainstream business.
