I remember seeing him at the Isle of Wight Rock Festival just before he died. Was saddened and shocked at the news.

Of course there will never be another like him as that would be copying, but there is definitely better than him around today. Who knows if he was around these days would anybody actually care about what he could do? As there is so much around now nobody takes much notice.. Even if you could throw your guitar 100m into the air on fire and catch it and carry on playing I doubt anybody would give a toss.

There is not one single guitar player today who defined and revolutionized the instrument to the extent that Jimi Hendrix did. There is no-one playing today who will inspire a generation to pick up the instrument, and sell millions of records while doing it.

Rock guitar is dead.

I've read somewhere recenly that his career only lasted about 4 years, most musicians don't accomplish anything close to that, in a lifetime..
