She very well may be one of the reasons we could see a meltdown within the republican party in November.

As it sits it is a pretty close call on the republicans regaining control of the house. However now that she won the primary there is almost no chance that she can win the general election in her state so baring a miracle they will not get the senate back. If they lose regaining the senate by 1 seat (hers) and she gets destroyed in the general election we just may see the republican party have a melt down and start striking out against the tea party. It should be quite entertaining.

Lets see, she lost her house, had a lot of financial problems, is religious and believes in the core values of the Tea Party. That makes her dangerous to the GOP because it makes her popular, just like everyone else. When the GOP figures out they have to back this girl, she will stand a chance of winning the seat. Her handlers are already not letting her on some shows knowing that's she's not ready for it. A mistake they made with Palin. It's a vote of extreme left VS extreme right and right now, the left isn't working for America according to the polls. So I believe this will be a closely watched race. It can go either way. What we have now ain't working, so voters are not voting in the incumbents or the ruling party.

I tend to agree, I mean people were already saying she "couldnt" win the primary. She did. Now those saying she "cant" win the general.. should be more cautious. She could win, definitely. It's totally possible.

I *do* have to say though, that that picture is priceless. I'm sure they're going to reign that stuff in, so we should enjoy it while we can.

Delaware unemployment rate is at 8.5%. While that's low for the nation, it's still very high, means most people that live there have a close friend or family that's unemployed. I believe this will not be a vote of Dem vs GOP, but rather a vote of independent voters that are disenfranchised by the two party system. And most independents want change, that's what got the democrats in office and Obama in office, those people didn't see the change they wanted, so now things will probably shift the other direction

Come November lots of incumbents from both parties will be tossed out on their ear, and that's a good thing.

Only when the politicians get it through their thick skulls that the economic "new normal" is completely and totally unacceptable will we maybe see some real change.


Having said that however, this O'Donnell chick is a raving loon.

No way will she get elected in a state like Delaware.

Don't be so sure, she trails by 11% in a democratic state by beating out a GOP favorite, if the GOP gets behind her, which they know they have to, it will make it an interesting fight for that state. Also remember the person she's running against her is a loon in the opposite direction

There is a great video on CNN about her. It looks like she has broken the law. She spent campaign money on non-campaign things during times when there wasn't even a campaign going on. She was using the money to do things like go bowling, go out to lunch and pay her cell phone bill. She hasn't had a job in years and has no apparent source of income. She hasn't worked since 2004 so she must be getting money from somewhere and it is starting to look like she is living off her campaign money.

If it turns out to be true she could be in a lot of trouble.

If Sarah ever got into the White House the stampede toward Canada would make the current USA/Mexico border look downright sleepy in comparison.

I haven't researched O'Donnell's Democratic opponent but, unless Coon's is a 9-11 truther or something, I can't imagine him coming off as being as much of a squirrel as her.

The truly frightening thing is that in the current political climate she stands a good chance of actually winning. Chris Matthews was chastising the Dems for underestimating the anger of the American electorate this year and warned that a lot of these 'crazies' could end up in office making policy... You don't like democrats, that is clear and that is a valid stance. Many conservatives don't like liberals because they say that the liberal policies only enable people to live off the system. Is that not exactly what this woman appears to be doing? It appears she hasn't had a paying job since 2004 and it appears she uses her campaign money to pay her living expenses. That is living off the system, it is just a different form of it.

More importantly, I understand the ideal of electing someone who is not a career politician or who is more in touch with the regular people. But is this woman that person? Do you really want someone in power with some of the whacked out beliefs this woman has? Electing someone who is not a career politician is good, but that doesn't mean you elect someone who is so far to the right (or left) that they may wish to legislate their morality onto the country. If this woman is against masturbation and she thinks that just jerking off is essentially cheating on your spouse or that having lustful thoughts is cheating on your spouse. Do you think she would love the idea that you make money selling porn and destroying people's lives with it?

I went with what I saw on CNN. Their reporter had documents that she filed to get money from her campaign account and what those funds were for and all of these documents were dated after the election was over.

Still, she has no verifiable income for years so how is she living? This should set off alarms all over the place.



My point is that if she is this crazy and has these kinds of beliefs now, what will she try to do when she is in office? No, she can't force you to stop jerking off, but that very well could be the tip of iceberg. She could work to get all abortions outlawed (maybe you agree with that though) or who knows what else. I personally don't think that people who are this out of touch with the reality of most Americans should be running the country and I read about this chick and she seems bat shit crazy.



So far 98% of all incumbents have won their primaries, but that doesn't mean they will win in November. That said, there really are only a few elections where "real" change could take place. Sure, the republicans may retake the house and gain seats in the senate, but these republicans are just going to be the same people that helped run the country into the ground during the Bush years. That isn't change, that is just hiring someone to run your country, firing them when they do a shitty job then re-hiring them when you don't like the guy that you replaced them with. There are only a couple of actual independents running so there will be no sea change had this November. We will get more of the same.
