"Waiting For The Miracle" is pretty good too though :thumbsup

over rated in my opinion. one big song that gets overplayed and over covered by too many musicians.

Excellent Author and one of the most gifted writers to ever approach music (Kris Kristoffersson comes to my mind as another extremely gifted writer).
I've started to explore his works just recently, it's interesting to read about the background behind his songs. |
I've been a LC fan for several years.
Lyric like these in the 60s - how can you not like him I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel, you were talking so brave and so sweet, giving me head on the unmade bed, while the limousines wait in the street. Those were the reasons and that was New York, we were running for the money and the flesh. And that was called love for the workers in song probably still is for those of them left. This song was written about Janis Joplin whom he has a long running affair with. |
seek out the bbc 1968 bootleg. its great.

I'm your man

Nope. . .

I LOVE Leonard, (and I'm not Canadian lol) still fuming over the fact that I missed seeing him at a local music festival a few years ago (along with Richie Havens) had no idea they were playing till two weeks AFTER the festival was over.
I have all of his albums (cd's) here and three of his books (but those are still packed up somewhere lol) I'm sure I'll pick up the new CD -Loki- |
Nice to see he is still putting out good music. The guy is a legend.

He also wrote 'Hallelujah' that was on the Shrek soundtrack, and which at least one drunk will sing badly--very badly--at karaoke night in my local bar.
|
If you've heard the song "Hallelujah" and all it's renditions has since been performed by almost 200 artists in various languages, then you've heard of Lenard Cohen.
