Well...aren't those banners supposed to be targeted towards WEBMASTERS and AFFILIATES? Not the pirates who are destroying the companies who pay for the ads.

Those traffic stats are useless if they are 99% surfers. And us program owners KNOW that. And not only that...but as I understand it, Eric has already closed it down to non-registered members and he does require some proof of being in adult for new members right?

So it would be easy enough to put in a field in a user cp that is viewable only by the user and admin that would be a place to prove you are in this business and who you REALLY are.

That would eliminate all of the fake nic/pirate/trolls.

Well, if GFY became industry only....there would no longer be ANY need for people to hide behind childish nicknames and claim to be millionaires from their trailer park. No surfer needs to even KNOW that an affiliate program exists. Much less be clicking on the banners on GFY. When you let that happen, you end up with gideongallery running that "sumo summer" banner from PussyCash in his sig for the last 3 or 4 years...it's been a loooonnnnnggggg summer.

That's why I specified that adult is supposed to be a closed business. We have given away the farm to surfers. Explaining to them what affiliate programs are for instance. That was unheard of just a few years ago. Now review sites have the affiliate program LISTED! :disgust

Porn is a different animal than mainstream. And this isn't 2001 anymore. In 2001 everybody knew everybody else when GFY first opened. And it was a bit of a "secret" site. Now it's known at every torrent and filesharing forum in the world.
