What's the deal with people that talk to themselves?
 

I was in the store today and some guy was having a conversation with himself about his sons' jobs. Besides the fact that he was having a vigorous question and answer session with himself, he looked like a pretty normal 40-something year old guy.

When I was younger I used to go to school on the bus. Coming home once there was some old woman sat at the front, talking to her imaginary friend about whether we were going to crash, and whether they'd survive or not. :1orglaugh

What's the deal with those guys... is there something that can cause this type of behaviour, or are they just crackpots from birth?

they're crazy or using drugs. you should talk with those people, you might be able to save their lifes.

what if you talk to their imaginary friend? would that agitate them?

Not everyone who talks to themselves is insane. Some of them are just on a cellphone with an ear-piece and mic.

So true! I made a fool of myself for basically gawking at some dude in mcdonalds for talking loud as hell about random shit. He looks at me and points to his lil mic and says "it's a phone idiot":helpme

Nothing wrong with talking to yourself. Never any miscommunications.

Just be sure to carry a little ear piece and mic, so people think you're on the phone.

There was a guy in Australia two yrs ago who went for a job with one of Australias largest companies...BHP....there were several applicants and he was the last interview...at the end of the interview the manager said he was the best qualified and would have given him the job except he noticed earlier the guy had been sitting in the waiting room talking to himself, so therefore he would not get the job and the manager then even ridiculled the guy....well the guy filed a case to the Human Rights Commision here...got $800,000 in damages, got the job, the manager got sacked and the other staff in the office had to attend a training course on human rights, and the company had to post a public apology in the newpaper.:thumbsup
