Settle an argument for me. . . The origin of the term MILF

I was debating with my girlfriend tonight about where the term MILF came from. I insisted that it originally came from the first American Pie movie. She thought it came from a website like Milf Hunter first.

Anyone know for sure?

American Pie for sure made the term more known, but I've heard it was used before that.

From Wikipedia

"The concept of a MILF predates the term. Jocasta was the mother of Oedipus whom he meets and has sex with. Mrs. Robinson from The Graduate exemplifies the concept.[1]

The term itself was first documented in Internet newsgroups.[2] It was popularized by the 1999 film American Pie referring to Jennifer Coolidge's character: 'Stifler's Mom"

I was right that American Pie came before MILF hunter, but our actual argument was where the actual term MILF came from. I thought it was American Pie, she thought it was around online before that (I was just using MILF Hunter as an example). It seems like it was around before the movie and he movie made it popular.

It was actually a funny conversation. She asked me if I thought Angelina Jolie was a MILF and I told her that Angelina was probably the ultimate MILF.

Ah.. yeah, didn't notice the newsgroup thing.. Funny how their example of it dating back to 1995 was in a playboy news group.. LOL

Term MILF was around verbally way before American Pie. Not sure if any actual "MILF" sites existing, but the term was definitely around verbally.

AmericanPie made the term popular. Then most of the big MILF sites sprung up

I remember the song (I'm a big Simon and Garfunkel fan) and I think I have heard it called a Mrs. Robinson before.

The way this whole thing started was this:

She has been away for several days in Hawaii with some of her girlfriends. While they were sitting around one night the conversation got started. They wondered if guys still thought Angelina Jolie was hot even though she now has six kids. One of her friends said that it just made Angelina a MILF.

So she comes home and we are driving down the street and she asks me if I think Angelina is a MILF. I tell her she is the ultimate MILF. Then we start talking about where the term came from and I tell her the first time I ever remember hearing or seeing it was in American Pie. She says the thought it was around on the internet before then. I say that I think it went to the internet after the movie. So we bet on who was right.

I lost, so now I'm cooking her whatever she wants for dinner. Luckily, we pretty much like the same foods so I'm going to like it and she told me as a way of consoling me on my loss she would wear her new bikini during dinner. :)

I always thought it came from the movie
