What Wifi Router are You Using?
So I'm down to the situation where I have 80mbps/60mbps channel coming into my house and not a single chance to use even 20% of it using my Linksys wifi router. If you have any experience with high speed internet connection over wifi, please let me know what router to look for?
|
I'm using the one that is provided by my ISP. Whenever they upgrade their routes, the give me the option to take the old one back and get the newer model.
Not much help, but a bump for you. |
buffalo wh 54g or something like that, running dd-wrt

and how do your routers perform? are you able to get 10+mbps ?

DIR-655 for my 100/10 broadband.

I use a Nclass D-Link DIR 615 which gives me a steady & smooth 1.5 upload & 55mb down. The 615 is capable of upto 30Mbps, so would be adequate :2 cents: |

draytek vigor 2130n
the best I have had till now. I like it even more than my previous d-link 655. |
Apple Time Capsule, which is basically the Apple Airport Extreme (N Class) with an HDD added. Gives me exceptional wireless signal throughout and around the property without a hitch. :2 cents:

A Belkin I'll smash to pieces if I have to reboot once more today...

You'd be better off with a separate router and a dedicated wireless access point. Sorry I'm not up on which model/brands are best right now, but you'll definitely get more throughput by using separate hardware.

Look into these products: http://ubnt.com/products
Using the AirMax series for 10+ km links with 90 Mbit synchronous throughput to connect my house which is in a non-ISP area. They have products for indoor as well. Time to upgrade your wireless to the N range which usually gives you ~ 100 Mbit throughput. |
