Epassporte is great for site owners

as they do not need to pay you.

all they need do is keep the cash and then say, 'you need to change to check option'.

I bet people for get who they promote if they promote lots of sponsers so your bound to forget to change option to check.

plus i bet (like me) your just going to see if the epass is sorted out so you do not need to change options.

loreen 09-13-2010 04:09 AM

I'm there with you.
I promote over 200 sponsors (and have accounts on many more).

yes

i can hardly be bothered to change, as i bet by the time i do, the epass will be sorted out and i will only have to change back.

it would be nice if the sponse5rs could just automaticly send checks out untill its soreted.

they could first email people to ask to check your postall address is ok first.

That is a poor business decision. Sure, it's OK to not immediately change sponsors that you hardly promote and you may get a payment from every three months, but all of the one's that send payments every payout should already be changed just to play it safe.

I've always chosen wire for programs that pay me more than $500 per payout as that is the safest bet. They have no excuse to not pay me.

The sponsors where I may have five blog posts out there for I'm not worried about right now. If they happen to pay me it will go in my Epass wallet and I will withdraw by ACH. I won't stress out if I'm not able to pull it out for some reason.

do you not get a message when you log into epass to say if money has been sent in or not.

even if its frozen i presume you would still get the message.

A good way to start is to check your Epassporte statement and start with the sponsors that are paying you most frequently and work your way down to less used sponsors

TeenCat 09-13-2010 04:37 AM

The webmaster's "logic" seems to be: "the affiliate program should to do that for me".

arock10 09-13-2010 07:54 AM

agreed 100%, yet another reason for sponsors to hold money and make excuses about paying out. This is only a small minority of course, but again, WMC only caused 1 company to stop paying and that was pretty significant

But if you can't be bothered to change a dropdown menu from epass to check, why are you going to be bothered to make sure your address is correct? From a sponsor's point of view, we need to know that people really want the check to be sent and that it's actually going to go to the correct address. Having the affiliate actively make the switch confirms that the info should be correct. It would be a huge hassle to send out hundreds of checks only to have half of them be returned or lost in the mail.

Hey, Sam, I overheard this last night in the voice channel for the online game I play:

Player 1: Have you seen <new movie>?
Player 2: Yeah, it's awesome, you get to see <actress's> tits.
Player 3: So? We totally saw them in <old movie>.
Player 2: No we didn't!
Player 4: From the side maybe you did.
Player 2: I've seen that movie, not even that!
Player 5: Mr. Skin is your friend in this sort of debate.
Player 2: What's Mr Skin?
Me: Kids these days...
Player 5: Don't make me bust out www.canigooglethatforyou.com...

a minute passes quietly

Player 2, outraged: I totally hate paysites!

After considering this I agree. I'd prefer that a sponsor just hold the money unless I actively confirm payout preference. That way I at least know that money is safe. As long as the sponsor sends it with the next pay period after I change things (and of course they should be sending me notices too so I know) all is well.

When Epassporte does not work, it can be compared to inserting a plastic card into the ATM machine and the ATM machine eats the card and does not return the card back to you.

It would be nice if they can send at least an email to say the limit has been reached.

What do you mean exactly? I'm not sure I follow what you would want.
