Besides being a cool feature

they now see whats on your mind

before you would type something into the search and possibly delete it before pressing search, now they have that data...

other cool things include

understand how fast you type and how accurate
can tell if your intoxicated by hitting the wrong keys, if you always hit the right ones

im sure thats not all but i cant think of anymore...please add :upsidedow

Always noticed the data harvesting side of things though so why it has taken instant search to get others to realise i'm not sure.

I hate how Google excludes the "instant search" feature for adult keywords. It's funny because the whole world acts like they hate porn and yet over 25% of all internet searches are porn related.

They've been suggesting popular search terms for some time now, long before "instant." Every keypress in the search box gets sent back to G.

definitely a contradicion the big G won't acknowledge
