Harley Davidson's Milwaukee days may be over
HD needs to cut some serious costs and there's talk of leaving Milwaukee if the union doesn't accept their offer.

good.. unions no longer have a place in this country...
all they do is drive up the cost of labor to amounts that are not sustainable during economic downturns.. . |
sad thing, but it is a business and if they cant compete with foreign bikes, then it will go tits up :2 cents:

If those people don't vote to take a cut to save their jobs, they're fucking retarded. Wouldn't you rather make a little less and still have a job or have no job at all ???

while unions make sense up to a certain point, they have lost touch to reality in many places. especially when you have to compete with countries like china

Always telling whoever runs the factory that they are shit, but with no actual sensible ideas of their own about how to do things better. |

Thank god, Unions need to die.
In the datacenter world power installation Here in Virginia where we have non-union labor/electricians is a whole lot cheaper than power installs up in NYC, where is is mandated that a union electrician does the work. By a magnitude of almost 3x the cost down here for the same thing. One DC tenant brought in their own non-union electrician one day, the union found out, inflated a 30 foot rat outside of the datacenter and picketed all day long. The tenant was in violation of the datacenter agreement where it says they can only use union electricians but still shows you what type of crap you see with the unions. |

In Japan, your typical auto plant has "six jobs". And if a worker in Japan shows up for work and is told today he'll be sweeping floors, he does it without complaint. Imagine that in the US. |
