Just watched the History Channel Special on 9/11

I forgot how fucked up that day was. The people jumping from the buildings,
sometimes in pairs. That special, from the amateur footage of the disaster...

It pissed me off all over again.

I was 18 years old and watched both towers collapse from my roof while smoking a blunt.

I'll never forget that morning. And yes, it makes me mad when I think about it.

The oddest thing about that was lunch with Steve Lightspeed. Within a few minutes of the second attack, Steve, Tanker, and I were in touch with each other on the phone and had decided to close the office that day. I did lunch with Steve at Wendy's that afternoon. It was very strange. The streets were empty, the parking lots were empty, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Very strange.

Yeah, to say that it was a surreal day is a huge understatement. I had a similar experience. Remember when they had the empire state building blacked out that night as well, fearing that it may also be a target.

I was working with a couple of national guard folks and it was all that we could do to keep them from leaving that night, booking a flight and fucking shit up.

That day was so strange I remember it like it was yesterday. I got up and got online, hadn't seen the TV yet and GFY was on fire with the news so I went into the living room and turned on the TV. I called a friend of mine and woke he and his wife up with the news then I just sat there in front of the TV in shock as all the events unfolded. It felt like I was watching a movie, I couldn't believe it was real. That afternoon I had to go somewhere. As I drove down the freeway and there was not much traffic. Every overpass had people standing on it with American flags and signs saying USA and sending love to the people of New York. I was in a funk for a few weeks after that day.
