Really, you guys make it too easy to see who's actually trained or fought in their lives.

Bruce Lee was 145lbs. Tyson was a Heavyweight Boxer. Lee was never known as a grappler, so he would fight standing up. Tyson would destroy men 250lbs plus with one punch, Lee would have nothing.

Before any of you go on about foot work or how fast Lee is, you should also know that lee's footwork was based off of Boxing. Nothing Tyson hasn't seen.

Bruce Lee was the start of the McDojo Asian martial arts bullshit that has permeated America. Deadly asian fighter blah blah blah.

That's why Bruce Lee started training in Boxing and chambers his punches like a boxer, and uses Boxing Footwork. That Kung Fu sure is deadly.

There's a reason for weight classes. A 145lbs man is not going to beat a 220lbs monster. Especially since that 220lbs monster is Mike Tyson. Some of you need to get punched in the face to find out for yourself.

I would like to see Mike Tyson versus Randy Couture in the octagon.

Unless it is a dance contest, I'm going with Tyson.

Why? The short answer is: "Physics."

The longer answer is stuff that Anthony has already covered, including that Tyson is bigger, stronger, has more actual full-contact fighting experience, knockout power aplenty, and a chin that, while not frequently tested during his boxing career, could probably stand up to anything that ANY 145 pound man could throw its way -- short of just standing there and waiting for a full force, entirely undefended kick to a sweet spot on the jaw.

Bottom line: speed is nice and all... but it doesn't do you a whole lot of good once you're in close with someone 50% larger than you are.

In order to overcome a serious size discrepancy, the smaller man has to have the overwhelmingly superior technique (see: Royce Gracie vs. various giants back in the early days of UFC). I'm sure a lot of people would argue that Lee has the far superior technique in this hypothetical case... but to make that argument is to seriously undervalue boxing technique, and Tyson's command of such, and (IMO, at least) a serious overestimation of Lee's technique from a practical fighting standpoint.

One thing is for certain; this sort of juvenile, absurd, junior-high-playground-level debate is..... silly, but still quite fun.

The thing about Tyson in his prime was that most of his fights went 30 seconds & TKO. So if Lee could survive a couple rounds, a reasonable idea given his agility, tyson might get taken out in the late rounds.

Well, this is easy- if they boxed Tyson would murder Lee. If they were doing Kung Fu, Lee would clearly have superior skill.

In terms of an all out street fight, Tyson at the height of his psychosis would not even be a fair fight for Bruce, he wouldn't see it coming. And Tyson is just such a junkyard dog- like a rabid animal- I'd have to take Tyson- he was a lot angrier than Lee- Lee was a movie star.

And I tought I have a lot of free time on my mind...

tyson was fast, but he was fast for a heavyweight. he was not as fast or faster at throwing blows than bruce.

on the other hand, mike knows how to defend himself and take some punches (how many we don't know too well lol) and all he'd have to do is wait out bruce and look for the right opening to lay him out in one punch

Everyone who ever tried any fight sport knows that Tyson would win without any problem, because of the weight. If someone is used to punches from heavyweight boxers there is no way how so light weighted guy could beat him. If they had the same weight, then who knows, Lee could win...
