Could you live with only 100 Items?

Saw a report on the news about a book about living with only 100 items. Started to make a list and although it would be tough I think I could pull it off.

Could you?

Imortyl Pussycat 09-08-2010 07:22 PM

i could never do it, not even close. does that make me high maintenence?

pornmasta 09-08-2010 07:22 PM

is food a single item ?

Shoplifter 09-08-2010 07:25 PM

Women are items right?

elitelist 09-08-2010 07:27 PM

With reality achieved components become just that. It is words to language.

Jman 09-08-2010 07:29 PM

Come on you guys know what this means. Items like 1 phone, 4 pants, 7 underwear... that would total 12 items. A cat is another item and yup let's say a chick is to ;)

kane 09-08-2010 07:38 PM

I think I could do it. I aspire to own as little as possible. Owning "stuff" just bogs you down and clutters your life and your mind. It distracts you. I'm sure I have over 100 items if you count each article of clothing as an item. Add in dish towels, bath towels etc. But if I had to I know I could narrow it down to less than 100 things.

Phoenix 09-08-2010 07:48 PM

what about food?

chronig 09-08-2010 07:54 PM

I don't think I have more than 100 personal items :uhoh

Zorgman 09-08-2010 07:54 PM

"item" is very vague. I would say no and I don't need to try, i'm not a caveman.

I saw the same thing on Yahoo about the couple doing it, the article was really about becoming happier by getting rid of all the clutter in your life and simplifying your living area, was really neat, actually since reading it I've started to do it. I'll never get to 100 but less shit has made me happier.

I looked at my desk during the news coverage and there's 3 computers, 2 cell phones 2 phones 1 xtra keyboard.

I could keep only 2 of these items and it would not change a thing in my life... I'm so a shame :Oh crap LOL

Nicky 09-08-2010 08:05 PM

Ok so give me 20 chicks, 20 pair of boxers, 20 t-shirts, 10 jeans, 15 pair of socks, 2 laptops, food, atm card, 3 cars, 7 pair of shoes and one iphone.

Seriously...

Did a lot of travelling - so I was living pretty lightly - clothes, computer, etc.

Just what more do you need than 100 items? Some little trinkets to put on your computer desk in your Mom's basement? ... fags...

A couple of times in my life now I've sold/gave away/thrown out a large percentage of my belongings... It's a great feeling. I'm about to do it again actually, and gonna be living in furnished places for the foreseeable future. It's just stuff, who cares?

There was a time several years ago I did the same. I traveled some and lived a couple of different places. I could pretty much fit everything I owned in my car. I had some clothes, a laptop, cell phone, sleeping bag, pillow, blanket and Ipod. At any given time I would also have a few different books, pens, tablets etc.

It was kind of freeing not having anything bogging you down.

jturn 09-10-2010 06:36 AM

There's no way I could survive this one. My meals for a week could easily topple that list.

BigFire 09-10-2010 06:44 AM

Sure, why not

Chezter 09-10-2010 06:54 AM

if those items were bitches, then I could :)

ShellyCrash 09-10-2010 06:57 AM

I got 99 items but a bitch ain't one.
