WTF is wrong with FIREFOX lately?

Version 3.6.9

Firefox is already running but not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process or restart your system.
Every fucking time the POS doesn't unload correctly from the looks of things

Maybe it's time for you to try again. They're up to release 6, and things have never been better. FF, on the other hand, continues to slump into a slow, chuggy mess.

EliteWebmaster 09-08-2010 01:02 AM

FF used to be on the top of the heap with it's lightning speed browsers but lately it's been very slow. Not to mention, there is those periodic browser crashes because of Flash.

Darkcrni 09-08-2010 01:24 AM

U should use the older versions of FIREFOX they are more stable!

blonda80 09-08-2010 01:59 AM

i am thinking to quit firefox. i already found out another much better browser

SpongeBub 09-08-2010 02:09 AM

I use FF 3.6 on Windows 7 and it works perfectly. Never had a crash or freezeup. Chrome? Sure, give google even more control over your world. I use nothing google and plan to keep it that way. I'd use Opera before I'd use Chrome.

seeandsee 09-08-2010 02:26 AM

i hear ie9 is going live soon :P

mlove 09-08-2010 02:28 AM

Have you made sure that firefox is closed before you try opening it?

Ctrl+Shift+Esc
Select "Processes", found and select firefox.exe, End Process

this trick is also useful when you have tons of Firefox windows opened but you need to restart pc for some reason. Because ff remembers it as a crash so next time you start ff you get all your windows back..

Klen 09-08-2010 03:45 AM

Works fine here.

Vick! 09-08-2010 03:56 AM

Shit happens when you keep developing new and fancy stuff into browsers.

Just make it up to nice set of features, and then stop. Otherwise, this is inevitable. Same will happen to Chrome one day.

I hadn't thought about doing that after 20 years experience with pcs. Far out.

It's a piece of shit browser now, a year ago it used to be the best out there, now I'm going to uninstall the fucker. And these companies wonder why they lose market share and eventually fold. Stupid cunnies. :321GFY

I've always found Firefox to be overrated. Never liked it. I use Chrome for personal stuff, and I use Opera for work. Its only personal opinion, but I feel Opera is the most elegant and graceful of browsers. I never have a problem with it.

ottopottomouse 09-08-2010 09:13 AM

Latest FF been wobbly for me too.

Amputate Your Head 09-08-2010 09:15 AM

Safari 5 just released.

messiah1 09-08-2010 09:17 AM

Chrome = Firefox a bunch of crashing not responding messages.

Agent 488 09-08-2010 09:22 AM

Chrome is much better for me now...

punkpred 09-08-2010 10:06 AM

It scoffed up half of my ddr ram I uninstalled it, cleaned my computer out and use Chrome and Opera now.

Chosen 09-08-2010 10:07 AM

Opera :)

anexsia 09-08-2010 10:11 AM

I use both Chrome and Firefox

Sergio Payingsolutions 09-08-2010 10:18 AM

I stopped letting Firefox auto update. So fucking annoying. Especially when the update causes problems. I've learned when you are happy with how a browser performs, don't ever update it.

dyna mo 09-08-2010 10:19 AM

i've been having multiple issues with one of my machines and firefox was part of the prob. i had to completely uninstall it (using glarey utilities), uninstall flash, then reinstall everything. had some drivers take a shit as well as the .net framework stuff go to crap, i removed the .net framework 4.0 entirely. not sure what it was for any way.

all seems good now.

Robocrop 09-08-2010 11:26 AM

I'm using a clone which I have written myself...its faster than Google.

CunningStunt 09-08-2010 07:54 PM

It was one of the plugins, java console or download manager, some shit like that.

It's a massive resource hog though, time to move on. I'll keep it for fireftp only.

nikki99 09-08-2010 08:08 PM

yes my FF is weird as well

Just the last 2 days, my FF has been playing up to the point of unusable. Some sites load fine, others not at all, GFY included. I've had to totally abandon it, even after uninstalling all the extensions - it's fucked
weird shit
back to safari

Mine died and doesn't even launch - every time I try to open it, nothing happens. Then, if I run the task manager, I see that firefox.exe is running, but there's no browser visible

Firefox - it was a good browser, then they loaded it with crap and kept force-updating it every five minutes until it turned into a bloated piece of garbage. K-Meleon is still the best for me and Chrome is very good as well...

CunningStunt 09-09-2010 10:27 PM

Get previous releases here.

SallyRand 09-09-2010 10:44 PM

I have no significant problems at all with FF and use it on all my boxes and Iz got more than one! The only issue I've ever had was that sometimes when I close FF and then go to reopen it, I get a message that says FF is already running. Not a big deal and I think its something in the boxes; all that Windows shit, you know. Sometimes that condition requires a restart but still no big deal compared to the vagaries of IE and I simply can't STAND Safari and Opera sucks balls!

Keep it updated, keep your anti-virus updated and your firewalls running and you should have no problems.

Sally.
