Why can't ePass and sponsors send money to candian bank accounts?
I got a message from pimproll saying they're looking into adding ACH to US banks. If PayPal can transfer my money into my Canadian bank account, why can't epass and others?
|
because it's not Candian

Automated Clearing House (ACH) is an electronic network for financial transactions in the United States.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automated_Clearing_House the Federal Reserve Banks are collectively the nation's largest automated clearinghouse operator and in 2005 processed 60% of commercial interbank ACH transactions. The Electronic Payments Network (EPN), the only private sector ACH operator in the U.S., processed the remaining 40%. |

Because Paypal is a bank [of sorts] and epass isn't?

Totally different processes, and totally different banking accounts. I've done this before when I setup a (failed) company. Not sure about the US, but with Canadian banks you need:
- Deposit ACH - Canada - Withdraw ACH - Canada - Deposit ACH - USA - Withdraw ACH - USA You need all four accounts, and the transaction processing between Canada & US is quite a bit different. That, and I highly doubt US banks are as convieniently setup to handle transactions to Canada, compared to vice versa. Most banks in the US don't give a shit about a Canada, where Canadian banks will go the extra mile to accomodate US transfers. |
