I can understand that some places in the world would do that, but I would think they would do it with new born puppies. Those puppies looked to be at least two weeks old.

My wife is a breeder...we currently have a litter of puppies that are almost two weeks old. They already show so much personality that I can't fathom how someone can just carelessly toss them into a river.

I would - without hesitation - kill a person who was trying to hurt my dogs. I have four of them, and they would give their lives to protect me without a second thought or hesitation. I would do the same for them.

I also have two cats. If someone threatened the kitties, I'd just sic the dogs on him.

It's only a fucking puppy. Why the drama? Happy to eat little cute lambs and little cute cows but when someone kills a couple of pointless dogs there is outrage?

I've never had a lamb play ball with me. I've never had a cow curl up at my feet or on my lap at night when I watch tv. I've never been able to teach a cow or lamb to sit, roll over or play dead. I've never received any type of acknowledgement from a cow when scratching its neck, belly or behind its ears. I've never had a lamb alert me to when someone strange was at my house. :2 cents:

Drowning puppies is usual practice among older European village people.. they just cant take care of them, so they drown them but they do that immediatelly after they are born. I dont really like that, but its not unusual and it has nothing to do with animal hatred or something, its just an old habit of animal reproduction control. I find the video part much more shocking, as it shows that they have fun doing that. :Oh crap

Same as up in the farms in Canada. Cat has a litter of kittens, and you can't / don't want to take care of them, put them in a bucket and drown them.

I've noticed in Thailand though, you shouldn't mention that to people, as they tend to get quite offended. :) Buddhists don't feel very strongly about drowning baby kittens.

you never hear about lambs or cows putting their lives in front of humans without a second thought.

either way its irrelevant. if you threw a baby cow or lamb into the water to torture it and kill it its just as bad. its different if you have a reason to do it for food.

The puppies in that video are not newborns. I know that caption under the photo in the "Grandma Found Puppies" article says they are a few days old, but there's no fucking way. The ones in those pictures, at least, have their eyes open, and puppies eyes don't open until around the two week mark. I only watched the video once and can't remember if their eyes were open or not, or if you could even tell, but I don't want to watch it again to see. But, even the size of the puppies, and the way they squirmed when she picked them up assures me that the ones in the video were not newborns, either. I don't believe this was a part of the "Older village" custom. These people had the puppies for awhile before they decided they to toss them in the river.
