Hurricane Earl Morning Pictures -- My AM Walk On The Beach

I just got back from my daily morning walk on the beach before work and took some pics. The surfers are out and the news crews are awaiting this monster they call Hurricane Earl. Let's pray it stays to sea and no one gets hurt.

pornguy 09-02-2010 05:39 AM

Looks about like the last one we had here.. It drove by about 18 miles off shore got some nice waves, some wind and a touch of rain. that was it.

czarina 09-02-2010 05:41 AM

beautiful photos!
Hopefully it won't affect you guys

Spunky 09-02-2010 05:49 AM

Mr. Cool Ice 09-02-2010 06:00 AM

Be careful. That looks very dangerous.

yume-hostplex 09-02-2010 06:16 AM

I liked the photos. This area looks so peaceful, so its a bit strange for me, that a hurricane can destroy something like that :S . I hope everyone will be fine.

gmr324 09-02-2010 06:22 AM

love the photos of the sun peeking through the clouds. Let's hope Mother Nature is kind to us on the East Coast.

Here are a few I took as well off my balcony. Earl is staying north of me so far. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Litzer 09-02-2010 07:56 AM

Do you ever swim in that water off that dock? Are there sharks in there or anything dangerous?

CyberHustler 09-02-2010 07:57 AM

Are we finally gonna get hit with one of these shits in NYC?

Cyndalie 09-02-2010 07:59 AM

Great shots!

DateDoc 09-02-2010 08:00 AM

Be safe. Been thru 5 hurricanes and not one of them was any fun. Lets hope it moves soon as Earl is still heading NNW.

scuba steve 09-02-2010 08:07 AM

family had a beach house on hilton head, part of the outer banks till a hurricane wiped it out 8 years ago i think. no one thinks but carolina gets hit hard, a lot. i live in miami now and we always get scares, but worst we had was hit by a 1 directly. i can't imagine a 3 or 4

Martin 09-02-2010 09:25 AM

very nice

Scott McD 09-02-2010 09:28 AM

Some amazing shots there!

Let's hope it passes by with no harm done...

baddog 09-02-2010 09:36 AM

Some nice pics. I guess the hurricane has to actually hit for you guys to get decent surf down there. That was the first thing I noticed about FL. No surf.

I have been in the water a couple times the last few years with my son surfing. I'm not much of a sea water chick. I like fresh water and pools where I know I'm safe from sharks and dangerous stuff.

ottopottomouse 09-02-2010 10:57 AM

Nice pics, I love the sea.

cwd 09-02-2010 11:03 AM

looks like the veritable calm before the storm...hope it passes you by.

Thanks. The waves are pretty big here today and the surfers are all over. It's called Surf City because of all the waves that break on the coast.

sexdatesj 09-02-2010 12:59 PM

By "on the coast" I presume you mean shore breakers as in right on the shore. I have seen lakes with better surf than the Atlantic. :upsidedow

Great pics. The waves right now at surf city across the street from my place are 20 feet or bigger right now. I'm getting ready to go snap some pics of the surfers. They are getting very big as we have a hurricane warning right now in my county and the winds are 50+ right now.

I'm doing homework with my 9 year old son and making dinner, then I will walk across the street and get some killer pics. I can see them from my kitchen window and they are BIG!

Zuzana Designs 09-02-2010 03:41 PM

Just got back from another walk. The waves are 40'+ I took a ton of pics. Here are a couple. I will post more later when I get time.

Give me a bit, the peer is 37' high and it was crashing over the people. I'm uploading more pics. You can also google surf city topsail island north Carolina. The news crews are here taping the news. It's pretty intense.

Zuzana Designs 09-02-2010 03:51 PM

I'm also about to lose power so it may be a few hours until I can connect to my server.

It's dark now and I'm away from the beach. I will try and make it out tomorrow morning but the winds are pretty crazy here now. I also have to get Seth off to school tomorrow morning at 5:30am.

It's windy but I'm one of maybe 500 on the 26 mile long island. I love it here. Everyone is positive and happy. I feed my birds daily and have a great office space here on the island. Life is great and I thank all my clients and awesome employees here in North Carolina. You just have to respect mother nature, she can fuck your shit up at any time. Have great insurance and live everyday like it?s your last. Also never put all your eggs in one basket as that basket can blow up in your face. Just be smart.

Hurricanes are amazing. The damage left behind not so much. Enjoy the storm and hope nothing is seriously damaged and that you get power back quickly! :)
